View Full Version : Real Suggestions for Troubador Charm

It's clear that the devs don't want Troubadors to be able to control more than one mob at a time - only enchanters get the ability to control multiple mobs. TU24 allows Troubs to lock down one mob with mez. In the current llive version, Troubs can also lock down one mob with charm.

So why not make charm and mez mutually exclusive, rather than nerfing charm out of existence? Put them on the same timer, so that mez is locked out when a mob is charmed. That way the Troub can still only control one mob, but can use either mez or charm. The advantage to charm is that the mob supplies extra damage; the disadvantages are less reliability, high hate for the Troubador, and inability to debuff the charmed mob. In most tough group situations I think the Troub might choose mez, especially since it would not be available immediately after the charm broke.

Another option would be to make charm a noncombat spell - it can only be cast when the Troub and the mob are not in combat. In group situations, charm could only be cast as the pulling spell, so the troubador would get big aggro from the entire encounter. Solo play would remain similar to the current live version, at least from my perspective, as I rarely use charm in the middle of combat.

Message Edited by Toskrin on 05-18-2006 11:28 PM

Please no.... Our Charm and Mezz should definitely NOT be on the same timer.

Half the time you have to mezz the mob and THEN charm it if you intend to get the charm off without being interrupted 17 times.

Believe me, I appreciate anyone's support of the Troubador, but I don't think putting the two on the same timer and making the charm non-combat for pulling purposes with huge aggro afterwards would be helpful... perhaps I've misinterpreted...

...or you're joking.

i'd be happy enough if they just made it so we couldn't use charm while in groups, and leave us with the full length charm for soloing. Sure it's been useful in duo's sometimes but i could live without that, i really can't imagine trying to solo (especially at higher levels) without it.

Devira, lvl 64 troub

I (personal opinion) would even forget about charm forever if only we could keep our mezz as it is now

Here's a thought: leave the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] spells alone. How about not screwing things up for a change?
