When you betray, do you have to change class?I am aware that neutral classes such as Guardian and Berserker you can retain. However, can you be a qeynosian Necromancer or freeport Conjuror? Thanks for any help you guys can give on this. Haven't been able to locate solid facts yet.--Raygo

When you betray your city and become an exile, you stay as whatever class you were before (and all your spells and CAs are dropped to app1) When you build up enough faction to join the oppoiste city, then you will change to your new class (if you were a faction specific class) There won't be Necros in Qeynos, or Conjurers in Freeport ^ that is my understanding of the new betrayal system, based on previous dev statements.

Presumably this will be an almost defined change too ? For example a Ranger betraying the fine green lands of mighty Quenos to live in the slime filled depravity of Freeport with the rats will become an Assassin rather than say be allowed to become a Bruiser or Guardian or whatever.

Oh and for a bonus point can you sift through the very sublte messages in my post and work out what faction I am ? Quenos or Freeport ?

Is there any limit to what class you can change to? Say can you change from a paladin to a bruiser if you betray from queynos to FP? Just curious to what extent the change can go.

You change to your opposite city equivilent. Paladins become shadowknights, swashy's become brigands, monks become bruisers. In the case of city neutral classes, you can change to the equivilent neutral class (wizard warlock, fury/warden/ guardian/zerker)

pebyr wrote:Is there any limit to what class you can change to? At FanFaire the devs said they were still deciding whether or not neutral classes would have the OPTION to switch to the correlating subclass or whether they would be forced to stay as they were. I have a Warlock who I want to become a Wizard. I'm hoping this is possible. The patch notes were a tad vague on this IMO.

Message Edited by urgatorbait on 05-12-2006 01:13 PM

It is an assumption based on the current system, which allows you to change neutral subclasses. I should add the two bard classes to that list of neutral as well, since there are only four class pairs that are neutral.I'm sort of worried about weather or not the throne room portions of the betrayel quests have gone away- a lot of voice overs are being lost in these revamps, and those were among the best in the game. Not to mention the only ways currently to meet either leader.

you spells DO not go to app 1, till you are finished with the betrayal quest and talk to the new trainer. your spells will not be back to app 1 when in exile unless they were already in app 1 before you started.

ok if i betray qeynos, and build enough faction to appease the overlord...do i automaticly join freeport as a result of the faction, or do i have the option to linger in exile state regardless of my factional fluctuations? it would be fairly a pain to constantly be changing back and forth out of exile without intending to...
