View Full Version : New betrayal quest: What about Master 2 spell choices?

<DIV>I find nothing objectable over having all your spells reduced back to Apprentice 1 (which will be interesting to see what the strength levels of all spells after level 50 are since you can't buy anything lower than App 2), but what about Master 2 spells? We were given those among a list of choices just as we progressed naturally through our levels, and it wouldn't be fair to force players to /respec in order to get them back, or the equivalent of that level for whatever class you're about to become.</DIV>

<DIV>If the player is changing classes, reverting to App I makes sense. Keeping the same class it seems as if the penalty should be different, even less. Changing classes means more than just proving your loyalty. </DIV>

I assume it'll be like current betrayal quests, where you choose your Master II spells again (and all your racial and whatnot abilities). I've betrayed 2 characters so far and have been able to do that.
<P>What happens to characters in the middle of the existing Betrayal series ? Does the quest still exist (and can be finished if it's already started), will it be removed, or will they be bugged ?</P> <P> </P>
<DIV>They can probably just reset the M2 selections when you finish betryal.</DIV>

It makes -far- more sense to get a /respec of the free choices (race, level, and master II "training") than to keep the "equivalent". In some cases the equal level CA/spell of the other class does something drastically different and might not be the best choice for playstyle. Besides, those are -free-, no cost whatsoever. All spells and abilities going to App I is a rather apt "cost" to becoming an exile. It makes the choice to do so non-trivial. And, again, what you've upgraded might have a vastly different "equivalent" if you're switching classes.AND, this has been posted for months now. It's not new information they're trying to "sneak" in.<div></div>

I don't see anything yet but does your class change when you betray now? There was some talk about that earlier. If so what's the equivalent to a necro and a berserker? I think the berserker would become a monk but I am not sure about the necro. Zoo <div></div>

You can choose to become a Guardian or stay a Berserker. However, if you are betraying as a Necromancer then you'd become a Conjuror.</div>

What I'm wondering is if this new betrayal quest will incorporate the sub-class betrayal that was mentioned by Blackguard (I think it was him) a while back. He mentioned that neutral classes that can exist in both cities would be able to betray to their alter-ego. Guardians to Berserkers, Necros to Conj, etc., but they would be able to stay in the same city if they chose to. I'm really looking forward to that.
Anyone know if the betrayal quest will be able to be done multiple times, or still only once?<div></div>

<DIV>According to what I've heard from the test servers, these new betrayal quests will remove the part where you meet Lucan or Antonia personally before being kicked out.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That means there will be no quests in the game anymore where you can see them personally.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway, everyone has thier spells reduced to App1 regardless of who they are. If you're a level 70 berzerker with tons of Master 1 spells in your Knowledge Book, then guess what? Now you're a level 70 Berzerker with nothing but Apprentice 1 spells in your Knowledge Book.</DIV>
