View Full Version : Early Warning: Test Update #24 notes will be wrong
Blackguard

This is an early warning that the update notes for Test Update #24 won't be entirely correct. Not everything that makes it in will be in the notes, and some things will change before they go to Test (particularly in the case of the control spell changes). These notes will be posted when data goes to Test, but they will only be current as of today since I will be in Los Angeles for E3 as of tomorrow morning (as will the others who tend to do the notes in my absence). I thought you'd rather see notes that weren't quite current than none at all, so they'll still be posted.

Thanks for the heads-up Blackguard. Although this is possibly asking for trouble as some people seem to be very selective readers, so I am expecting crys of nerfage even though everyone should know the update notes aren't 100% set in stone. Also, have fun at E3, this years looks pretty interesting and I am dying to see more of Nintendo Wii and the new Zelda game, /drool.

I can live without the update notes being 100% accurate. As long as we don't see something outragous it should be okay for example Templar: All Heals Removed

I just checked the Test Updates forum and they are not there.. Any idea when they will be posted?

So, does this mean that if the Tradeskill revamp doesn't appear in the notes, there's still hope? :smileywink:

Those Troubador changes better be very wrong indeed. Sent feedback, and I've added my comment in the class forums no dev ever seem to visit.

My test character isnt a troubadour, but my main is. Have to fully concur with the above poster.

With reduced solo DPS recently, I rely on control spells to solo. Not just our mesmerize, but I often use charm to reduce the damage I take and add a little to my damage output. With lullaby being halved and charm returned to it's useless pre LU13 state, I just don't know what to say. On live, troubadours are ok. We aren't overpowered.

What I dont understand is, if the across the board control changes are to make enchanters 'better', why do our heroic control abilites have to be hit so hard? I don't want to have any control over epics whatsoever, thats where enchanters should stand out. They should also still have the best control abilities in non raid situations. But a small level of control is what troubadours have to make up for their lack of DPS and mediocre buffs. Its also something that keeps us on our toes and active in the game.

I very, very rarely post concerns about my class when I hear of a change (didn't say anything about the spell procs), but I do hope these changes are looked at again before going to test and/or live. This will kill off the class not just for me, but I assume many other troubadours as well.

It isn't about being powerful anymore, its simply about having fun playing your class.

And you got it so right in LU13. I'm afraid this will be the end of my troubadour if it goes ahead :smileysad:

Message Edited by WorldsAway_Nybor on 05-11-2006 04:52 AM

I played a Troubador for 70 levels because of charm and mez. Even when dirges had the uber run speed buff...I played my Trouby. Even when we were revamped to no dps and power drains for mobs with what seems like infinite power...I played my Trouby. Even when our solo and group dps took a huge hit...I played my Trouby. So now I get casted down to the caster group to keep them from gaining aggro and enhance their dps on raids when I used to have a proud spot in the MT group...I play my Trouby. However, if you take away my control abilities to the point that they are no more than single target mez that I can barely keep under control and a charm that is more of a situational DoT like the dumbfire pets...I just can't play my Trouby. I have several other lvl 70 support characters that I interchange from time to time, but my Trouby has ALWAYS been my main. If this patch goes through Blackguard, I will have to give heartfelt consideration of leaving the world of Norrath that has been my home for almost a decade. I know the percentage of things that people feedback on that actually stops before going to live, and this fact truly dismays me even more. Since you posted that the notes weren't accurate, I hope that you do follow these posts and stop the changes to the troubador class. I don't want to be able to affect epics and in no way feel overpowered in my current state. I just want to play the class that I created without losing the skills that I worked so hard to gain.

Echo lvl 70 Troubador Crushbone
