View Full Version : Chat window problem since 4/26 Patch

I believe I encountered a new bug last night. When I set my main chat window to group chat I can just hit enter to talk in group like one would expect. But once I type in /ooc or /gu, the chat window defaut chat reverts to that so with it set to group chat, and I then type in /GU, every time I hit enter from there on it is in GC now not Group.. Same for /OOC. I set the chat window to group and when I hit /ooc and type something, the chat window defaults to /ooc.

Anyone else seeing this? is there maybe a new setting I need to set? I looked for the 4/26 update notes but they still have the 20 April notes there.

I would like the default chat to stay at what I set it to and not change to any other chat I may send (like it did before the updaate)..

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks

Message Edited by Trook on 04-27-2006 04:12 AM

Only sence the last update, huh? Because I have been having this for months now, and I just assumed that it was just the way it worked. However, it doesn't really bother me, cause I have no problems typing /g, /gu, /r, etc. for whatever I type, it's much easier than making sure your little chat bubble is the right color.

There is an option in the chat setup to automatically switch your chat when you type different types. So if you're currently set for /gu and you type /occ it will automatically switch to /occ from then on. It can be disabled.

Appreciate the reply.. I was informed by a guildy of the setting.. Apparently the default setting is "ON". I recently formatted the hard drive and reloaded EQ2. Ever since then i had this issue.. Somehow I missed the update notes that added this feature.

I am curious though.,. why would such a setting be a good thing? I can't see why this would be needed..

Thanks again

Message Edited by Trook on 04-27-2006 08:18 AM

Yeah it's one of the more annoying settings. Glad you found it.
