<DIV>Has anyone had a chance to test the instanced version of Harla Dar? Does a contested version still pop?</DIV>

<DIV>yeash.. i quit a few weeks ago, so i had no idea they changed this. So your telling me they instnaced harla dar now? Good god man.. glad i quit.. they strip the game down so badly and take out almost all the competition and contestation.... ah well... world of everquest2 is what they should call it. The end game is becoming one big instance-fest.</DIV>

<div></div>A lot of people were asking for this. I dont recall PoF Siyamak/Barakah being quest updates. All it does is allow more people to get these quests done. You still have several contested in KoS, with this and another new raid zone in TT, there will be plenty of raiding for the more casual guilds to undertake. You will still have to kill some nasty mobs, i.e. Tarinax who was dropped for the first time on our server just last night. This change does not make the mobs any easier, just available. And please dont compare EQ to WoW, ive been there done that, and EQ holds interest at max level. I imagine that's what the OP is curious about, whether the instanced version is substantially easier, and whether the contested is still available.

I'm wondering if this is more like Vox now, where there is a contested version of the dragon, and an Instanced version so people can get whatever quest updates they need?

<P>AFAIK the instanced version of Harla is identical to the original.. all they did is Instance the area where you kill Harla so that multiple guilds could kill the target and get rid of the greifing issues that were present.. IE.. Guild A clears all the mobs around Harla while Guild B KS's the boss. I think it was a good move on their part, as I've witnessed malicious behaviour around this mob on more than one occation. Also, because this is a quest mob (for 2 major quests) this was a very wise move to keep the Ubers from keeping smaller capable guilds from finishing their quests.</P>

<DIV>It would be nice if they were able to have both the contested and the instanced version. This way both contested gaming and quest gaming could co exist while not being co dependant. As for the second person to post on this thread......I'm glad you quit too. There is no reason to play a game you do not enjoy. Good luck with whatever you do next. I am sure you will find an online game that is almost entirely geared at competition. This is not it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I look forward to the changes to harla and ascent!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Krutt Fuzzybottom</DIV> <DIV>70 Bruiser</DIV> <DIV>Club FU</DIV> <DIV>Blackburrow</DIV>

Contested mobs should be stuff your guild does to get that little -extra- something out of the game, be it that extra challenge others can't or that extra loot nobody else will have. Quests should not be related to contested content <EM>ever</EM>.

At the rist of sounding like i wanna have my cake and eat it too, i dont think removing contested mobs is the best idea, was hoping wed still have the original. Some of the most memorable moments in EQ2 are from fighting for contesteds. At any rate i hope theyll learn from this mistake. Would like to know what exactly theyve done to the Ascent, and Gorenaire/Talendor, if you ask me that is also a contested, 3 day timer on the effigy. The notes were a bit vague.
