Is anyone at Fan Faire about to shed light on when the new Betrayal Quest will be implemented, even on beta?  Just something.  Last news we had was either LU21 or LU22 and neither show any sign of this new quest.<div></div>

The last news was "when it's done" they never said LU21 or LU22.<div></div>

MG stated the following and I know you've seen this yourself Magus. "<span>We anticipate it will arrive in the next update or two after LU20."My question is valid and I hope someone at Fan Faire will be able to find out more.</span><div></div>

It should be obvious that it wouldn't hold up.</span></div>

It may have been a guesstimate from MG, but it wasn't outside the realm of plausibility it would actually show up.  Unlike LU13, which took several months to actually go live after them first mentioning the combat system revamp.  This isn't in the same league as that.  It's just a quest.<div></div>

It's more then just one quest. It'll be a long series of quests, based on previous dev posts.Since it will apply to multiple levels, they can't just make one quest and call it good - mobs you target for one level would be too easy/hard for another. The new version will be FAR more complex then the old, so it'll take a lot longer to develop then you think.<div></div>

Magus' is right, it is a lot more than "just a quest" it is also tied to faction -and- scales (changes a bit) by level and incorporates a lot more than what the current quest does.I am at Fan Faire, btw... the betrayal, or rather Exile, quest was brought up.Let me try to remember all the stuff about it...and my hang over would have been this morning if I got them *laugh*.  I did, however wake up without a voice *laugh*Umm.. Exile...It's going to be tied with faction a lot.  Part of it will be zero'ing, in a sense, the faction of an individual (City factions) and then through various linked quests, the person building the faction back up for the city which he wants to join (either the one he left or the opposite).  It is -hinted- that it won't just be a matter of slaughtering 500 sentient creatures and then 5 nameds.  It will involve a bunch of different things which will be linked into lore (like the new Outpost Islands are steeped in lore) and give the quest an actual purpose in the scope of the world as a whole. No set date was given for when it's going to be completed.  But I think they'd like to see it in game as soon as possible, too.  But... they don't want to push it out too early and have it not fulfill it's potentials.Oh... and it will be available to do not only at all levels, but more than once.  Each time, though, would "zero" all spells and CAs to App 1 as well as the faction hit.<div></div>

Great info Rijacki.  It seems deeper than I had thought.  I wonder what quest line will be provided for people who play a neutral class, want to change that class within their neutral archetype, but not change cities?  Since you're not changing cities, the faction part of these quests would seem rather strange. They should implement solo instances that scale with level.  That would help the problem of having a quest series that can be done at any level.<div></div>

<div><span>Sounds like yes, you could change neutral classes without changing cities, as per this:<blockquote><hr>Rijacki wrote:(either the one he left or the opposite)<hr></blockquote></span></div>

Not all of the quest will be killin' stuff and it should, in my opinion, be as part of the world, not jsut off in its own shut away place for the whole thing, Magus' is right and my wording it that was was intentional... since that's a paraphrase of the dev (drat I forget which one.. I really should have taken notes *laugh*) who answered the questions about it.It will be an Exile quest, not a Betrayal.  From the way I understand it, you would be exiled from the City and need to regain citizenship in one or the other.  Exiling would also be why your spell/CA upgrades are stripped away (and, no, I don't know if -that- would happen at the beginning or the end or both).<div></div>

<div></div>BAH, leave it the way it is, lol, you should have betrayed when you had the chance, like the rest of us... and they won't have to worry about fixing quest for different levels and such.  LOL oh here ya go, just make the betrayal take place inside of splitpaw tunnels, then its a non-issue, the mobs level with you <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<div>I would think that the new betrayal quests (series) would be extremely long.  Not something that should/would be tried by everyone to see what the other class is like.  If you think about it, betraying does seem easy in real life.  But it is a long trying process and it should be all solo or mostly solo stuff as well.  Also, losing all your spells/combat abilities is a good idea.  I would think that alone would cause some people to stop and think if this is something they really want to do.  All those master 1 spells/CAs lost to app 1 spells.  Of course I guess you could always prestage and have your high end spells already made so when you emerge on the other side, you're ready to go.</div>

<div></div><div>I’ll echo Rijacki’s comments… I was at Fanfaire and sat in on the panel discussion sessions (really just <span> </span>Q&A sessions).<span>  </span>A few questions were asked about the new betrayal quest(s) and this is what I recall being said.<span>  </span>Most of this has been said before and is subject to change:<p>     <span>-<span>          </span></span>Betrayal can be done at any level</p><p><span>-<span>          </span></span>Betrayal will be able to be done as many times as you want i.e. you can switch back and forth as often as you want.</p><p><span>-<span>          </span></span>Your spells/CAs are all reset to Apprentice 1 when you betray</p><p><span>-<span>          </span></span>They have not yet decided whether neutral classes will be able to switch to the other class when betraying (dang, I sure hope they do)</p><p><span>-<span>          </span></span><span>I think they hinted that the quests were different based on your race and would immerse you into the lore behind it.<span>  </span>DON’T HOLD ME TO THIS.<span>  </span>My memory is vague on that last point</span></p><p><span> </span><span>No date was indicated as to when it goes live other than to say the standard “in the next few live updates” line.</span></p></div>

Neutral classes can already change when they betray. I doubt they'll reverse that.<div></div>

I think one of the reasons they are talking about it as an EXILE quest is so that it can be done by someone of a city neutral class to change class but not city. The fact they were adding in changing classes but not cities for neutral classes has -long- been announced and not rescinded.  They, too, though, will be dropped to app 1 on everything as part of the process.<div></div>

If it's going to be something implemented then I'll def stick around playing this game.  If non-<span>neutral classes can switch cities and therefore change class, </span><span>neutral's must have that option given to them as well. It's just a waiting game now, hoping some info will surface.  It does sound more complex than a few quests, but I doubt it's as involved as the Prismatic 2.0 or Qeynos Claymore quest lines.  Let's hope not.  I truly hope it's soloable as well. </span><div></div>
