You can't equate the island to the rest of the game. You conveniently left out what class you are. Some classes solo better then others. As a Conjuror, I could easily take out a white con with all app1s and no gear.As for orange mobs, they should NOT be easy - they're orange, meaning at least 5 levels over you.

The other designations (Heroic, Epic, arrows up and down) are meant to give you information on the relative difficulty.

We have this awsome magical armor and great upgrades to spells yet we can take down an orange heroic?
HEROIC - means you're supposed to fight it with a group.SOLO- means you're supposed to fight it by yourself. There are exceptions, but that's the general rule to go by. You will be white con mobs that are both. Heroic mobs, even if they are green, you will have a very difficult time defeating by yourself.

White Con meens it is suposed to be a challange for the AVERAGE PLAYER, on the isle the average lvl 1 player is someone with 3 pieces or so of armor, either 2 Duel Wield, 1 2handed or 1 1handed and 1 Shield, and possably a bow, a few arrows and some poisions(all of npc vendor quality) and app1 spells

By the time you leave the isle the average player has a Full suit of armor(simple quest quality) maybe an adept 1 spell or 2, Maybe some nice droped weopons and a couple pieces of Jewery.

by lvl20ish the average player is consited to be in Treasured Player Made Geir with App4 spells, and from this point forward this is what the game consiters white con.

I havent tried this for a while, but try to /con a player - last time I did it they con'd in the same way a mob with a v would, ie - you sense this creature is slightly weaker than they appear, or whatever it says.

So hypothetically if you want an even fight, then fight white mobs with a down arrow.

It was really fun geting super geared up and killing a Low red mob, even if it was a solo mob and took abit.

NOTHING is balanced for nekkid app1. That would make every encounter trivially easy if you even had complete crap gear. Since most people -do- care about improving their characters to the fullest in whatever ways they can, if the game was balance for App1 nekkid, it would mean the vast majority of player would be (as in pre-LU#13 for many) completely and utterly bored. At one time, the balance was for AppIV & handcrafted since you can easily obtain those. Now I think it is more treasured and adept 1 since they have become so easy to obtain. I'm not sure, though, what the balance point is (and no, it is -not- multiple masters with full fabled, that's ludicrous in the other extreeme).

LOL wow, this is great.........how does the con system work?......Go back to the island, or better yet, read the user manual.White/even = should be beatable with treasured geareverything else = you were stupid to ask the first time so if you dont have it figured out by now then run a magnent over your hard drive a few times.

Actually it's simple. Neither your gear nor your class are assessed. But, the encounters are "tuned" expecting a certain quality of gear, spell/CA upgrades, & number of people depending on the encounter typeWhite = same level as you. Green and Blue = lower level than you by a specific number of levels (can't remember the range)Yellow = higher than your level by a specific range (4 levels?) with the encounter tuned so that it is more resistant to youOrange = higher than yello (another 4 levels?) with the encounter tuned so it is very resistant to youRed = not intended for you to have much chance of hitting it since it is significantly higher level than you (and is also why some grey encounters can't hardly hit you, you're red to them)VVV = same level as you, but weaker in it's abilities (that might be a equivalent of app1s and nekkid)VV & V = a little bit better but still not weaker than a "standard"no arrows = designed to be tough (but not hugely challenging) for most soloers with "standard" gear (standard being treasured, I think, with adept 1s since those really are easy to obtain for all players)^ = challenging for most soloers with standard gear, but only tough for a duo with standard gear^^ = challenging for a duo with only standard gear, but tough for a group with standard gear^^^ = challenging for a group with standard gear^^^^ x# = tough to challenging for a raid of the # of groups

^ = challenging for most soloers with standard gear, but only tough for a duo with standard gear ^^ = challenging for a duo with only standard gear, but tough for a group with standard gear ^^^ = challenging for a group with standard gear ^^^^ x# = tough to challenging for a raid of the # of groups
This is also slightly misleading, because there are SOLO mobs with ^, and ^^ (I've never seen a solo mob with ^^^), and then there are HEROIC mobs with ^, ^^, ^^. For that matter, there are some HEROIC mobs that have down arrows as well. This means that just because you see a blue con mob with a ^, doesn't mean you'll be able to solo him. You'll need to find out if it's HEROIC or SOLO. Also, some people seem to get confused with the term SOLO. SOLO does not mean there are only one of the mob. It means that the mob was designed to be fought by an adventurer without a group.

I don't care what the definition means, but white con solo mobs should be beatable only by a player with at least App IV spells and a full set of handcrafted gear. Yellow mobs should require more than that (i.e. Adept I and treasured gear), and orange should be impossible with Adept I and treasured gear and should be very hard even with Adept III/Master and Legendary/Fabled gear. Red con should not be possible to solo.
