View Full Version : NEW offline Broker Bug -- not receiving any money from items sold.

<div><div>It appears that if you do not have you chat log open when you log on you will NOT receive the money from the offline broker. However a txt log is generated in the EQ2 directory so you can see what you should have received and what sold but<font color="#ffff00"> YOU DO NOT GET THE MONEY. </font>This</div><div>txt log has NO NAME associated with it whereas the storelog used to have <font color="#ffff00">servername_eq2_charname_storelog.txt. This new storelog just has only servername_eq2_storelog.TXT</font></div><div><font color="#ffff00"></font> </div><div>Incidentally my Qeynos character who has a small offline store has the records of sales appear correctly in the storelog under his name.</div><div> </div><div>For a long time on my main character who runs the store I have a had a problem with my chat log. All my other characters have their chat log open and on-screen when I log on. This one character does NOT and I can't seem to figure out why. Personally I don't care for the way the chat log in implemented in EQ2 -- hated it in WOW too -- but I could open by typing a slash.</div><div> </div><div>NOW however, it is becoming a critical issue since the money you receive from your offline store is displayed in the log and if the log is not open, the code does not know what to do with the money so sends it to a<font color="#66ff00"> blackhole</font>.</div><div> </div><div>The opacity settings on the log are identical in all of my characters so I have no idea what setting I should change or even where this setting is located.</div><div> </div><div>Occasionaly if there is a MOTD a brand new TAB 1 will open for that message - what causes that I have no idea -- so the MOTD will go to TAB1 but not to my regular chat window as it sees it as not open.</div><div> </div><div>If anyone has any idea how to fix this I would appreciate it -- <font color="#ff3300">BUT THE DEVELOPERS NEED</font> <font color="#ff33ff">TO FIX THE CODE</font> -- lets go back to the way it was and get our money when we go to our room.</div><div> </div><div><font color="#99ff33">Please give us an options to receive our money when we enter our room!!!</font></div></div>

<div><font color="#33ccff">I have had 2 instances where I did not receive the cash that I was supposted to, but it had nothing to do with the chat. It's just a bugged system. I saw the message pop up that I had an item sell, the info went into my EQ2 log, and the item was removed from my vault. However, I did not receive the money. </font></div><div><font color="#33ccff"></font> </div><div><font color="#33ccff">They can not put it back the way it was. It was changed because of a duping bug/exploit, and this is the only real way to fix it. What they can do, however, it make it go to the bank for ALL servers, not just the PVP. I hate the idea, even in PvE, that the $$ goes to my character (and no, it's not really the weight, I wear plate). It just seems it should go to the bank. And that way, I can keep much better track of it. Either way, the system itself is an okay idea, they just need to make sure you really are getting the money you earned.</font></div>

<div></div><p>I also think it needs to goto the bank, while as a Monk(arguably the class with the most carry capasity) weight is not an issue with me, It is an issue with my Squishy Guildmates, and if a guildmate suddenly becomes encumbered while in say Halls of Fate, It really will mess up the group.</p><p>Also I personally like to keep track of how much coin I have gotten on a night of playing and with this I can not as the gold from selling goes into my pocket as well(personally I want to see how much I get Adventuring vers Selling stuff).</p>

The current methods of sending it to the character is unacceptable and apparently buggy too. I misse the sales log in game too.</p><p>I did submit a bug report in game but am never sure how much good that does as I suspect that they get more reports than they can handle in the course of a single day that they just plain ignore a lot of them.</p><p>Message Edited by Maroger on <span class="date_text">03-31-2006</span><span class="time_text">01:29 PM</span></p>

<div>Todays patch says they are able to send the money to the bank of people on PvP servers....why is this not the case for all servers?</div><div> </div><div>The only reason the devs said they did not make it go to the bank is because they said they couldn't iron out the details.</div><div> </div><div>Well if they are ironed out on one set of servers, please put this on the PvE also.</div>

Does PvE after suffer because of PvP fixes. They should do it for PvE also -- can't imagine what the details are unless there is a restriction on the number of characters you can have on a PvP server.</p><p>The Bug I saw seems to relate with not knowing who the character is. It looks like they are checking the Main Chat for the character name so if you don't have a Main Chat which opens when you logon, the money goes in a black hole and they write an anonymous storelog to a txt file with no character name associated with it.</p>

<div></div>Yikes!, I have a problem with my main chat box not being up when i log in too. Is there any User Interface tweaking we can do to make use that box is up before we sign in?

I sent a feedback in game yesterday I suggest EVERYBODY do the same. maybe the sheer number will make them change something.</span><div></div>

I agree with it being sent to the bank. As a provisioner I get paid in change, lots and lots of change. I don't want to become encumbered midfight cause I got lucky and sold a few stacks of drink. What if I need to run?<div></div>

I can't figure out if anything is even selling, or if my stuff is still listed after I log out.I havn't had anything sell (and I've checked and double checked that I'm the lowest price) while offline for a few days. Please, either send it to the bank, or let me pick it up when I go into my room.<div></div>
<div></div><p>I thought this would be a nice change when I read it - then I got into game. Here's what I hate:</p><ul><li>The message for sales is buried in battle spam</li><li>The file it goes to seems to be a generic - what character sold from where?</li><li>Entering my house does let me see my sales list, no longer added up</li><li>Younger characters, especially casters, can't sell harvests for coppers in large stacks anymore for fear they're rooted by weight while hunting. I rely on those sellers being there!</li><li>I need to watch more closely today but I think I missed out on getting 61g in pocket from sales messages I saw yesterday.</li><li>I usually head out with a specific amount of money in my pockets to tradeskill so I can figure out my meager earnings at the end. With this change I need to either give up hope of trying to figure out if I've broken even or made any profit at all or I need to become a human adding machine in order to track my spending/earning. </li></ul>

I had wondered why my sales log never had anything in it anymore (since March 29th anyways) and this answers that question. I have NOT received any cash at ALL from sales. I keep a very very close watch on my sales and on my personal cash flow, so even a gold or two would show up... After looking into the new text file, I can see an easy plat having been sold, but i do NOT have that plat on me or in my bank. Any dev help here?<div></div>

<div>Please try to fix this. I have a lvl 68 alchemist that has completely stopped selling (ca's, poisons, rares, adept III's) because I can't trust that I am actually getting the money. </div>

<div></div><p>I've personally not had any problems at all. I do not keep too close a watch on cash flows save for how much platinum I have, but I can say without a doubt that most if not all my sales have given me the money I was owed. Every time I log in in scroll up the window the sales notes appear in and can see what has sold and then check how much gold/platinum I have and can tell right away that I am still getting my money from offline sales.</p><p>That having been said, it might be buggy for some people or servers, etc, for some unknown reason, but I personally have not run into a single issue with this thus far. I do think it would be a nice option to have the option to have it go into my bank though, and might be easier for some to keep track of if they are getting their money or not.</p>

If you have a character whose Chat window is not appearing upon logging in, you might try what I did. If you have another character on the same server who does NOT have the problem of the Chat window not appearing, type /load_uisettings and pick the UI setting belonging to the character without the problem. I don't know whether this will fix the broker issue or not, because I did this before the broker problems, but it did fix the chat window problem, and some seem to think it might be connected.Oh, if you don't have another toon, you might try to roll a new one...just don't pick the UI settings from the chat-broken one! <span>:smileyvery-happy: Then you can copy its working settings to the broken toon.</span>Anyway, hope this helps somebody.<div></div>

I am seeing this bug on Test. I had exactly 6 plat in the bank and 80 gold on my person when I logged in today, and whenever I got messages that something sold, those amounts stayed the same. Most of the items in my vault were selling for between 1g and 5g, so I likely would have noticed. And certainly the sums in either my bank or my inventory would have changed. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I don't mind being out the money -- Test being Test, I only sold it because I couldn't find or think of someone appropriate to give it away to -- but it's still a pretty big problem. And I would mind if I had been selling items crafted by my alt rather than collectibles and tradeskill books.<div></div>
