<div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div> </div><div> </div><div>You might have gotten a faster/better response posting in the <b><span><a href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board?board.id=tech_support" target="_blank">Tech Support Forums</a> </span></b>but I'll give you the benefit of my 2 coppers. I had this happen to me right after loading LU 20. Sound worked in Windows but not in game. After a bit of troubleshooting, I found that the game was not detecting my soundcard.</div><div> </div><div>FYI: This assumes that you are running under Windows 2000 or XP. You will need to be on an account that has administrative rights on the computer. This is not for the faint of heart. You have been warned.</div><div> </div><div>Ready? Okay...</div><div> </div><div>Make sure you have a copy of your sound card drivers handy in a known location on your harddrive before starting this, you may need them.</div><div> </div><div>Right click on the My Computer icon on your desktop > chose properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager button</div><div>or if no My Computer Icon... Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager button (Classic view) or Start > Control Panel  > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager button (Standard XP desktop)</div><div> </div><div>Scroll down to and expand the + Sound, Video and Game Controllers ( you may want to take a screenshot of the screen and paste into MSPaint, then print it out)</div><div> </div><div>Locate the name of your sound card [i.e Conexiant AC-Link Audio, Realtek AC'97, or something similar]</div><div>Highlight the named driver, then click the < X > on the *toolbar* (not the X at the top right hand corner of the window). Click OK to confirm that you truly wish to uninstall the driver. Uninstall the named card driver ONLY!!!.</div><div> </div><div>Close all windows and reboot your system.</div><div> </div><div>Return to the Device Manager screen and verify that the sound card has been installed. Windows should have redetected your soundcard automagically. If not, you will see a Wizard advising you that new hardware has been detected. If this happens, simply follow the prompts and point the wizard to the location of the sound card driver (you do have them handy?).</div><div> </div><div>Make sure your sound is working in Windows. Load up the game and see if the sound is now working in EQ 2. This is what worked for me. Good luck and good hunting. Hope this helps. :smileyhappy:</div><p>Message Edited by Dirty Jack Rackham on <span class="date_text">03-24-2006</span><span class="time_text">05:16 PM</span></p>
