If they do warlock to wizard, then they should allow betrayal withing city classes as well.  Like Necro to Coercer.<div></div>

<div><span><blockquote><hr>Dr_Cyrus wrote:If they do warlock to wizard, then they should allow betrayal withing city classes as well.  Like Necro to Coercer.<div></div><hr></blockquote>Those are vastly different from each other.  Necros are summoners, Coercers are enchanters.  Yes, they are both mages, but they share very little in common, not even any basic spells any more.  This wouldn't be far from allowing someone to change from a Ranger to an Inquisitor. The betrayal and class change quests are not intended to be a complete class change, just within the sub-class (or rather the former sub-class).  They aren't a complete respec while retaining level and experience.</span></div>

<div></div>Does this mean we can go conjuror to necro WITHOUT having to betray our city? I would love to be a Halfling Necro<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Especially if I dont have to betray to FP<img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<div></div><div>If they allow one single class to change over to another, then they need to allow EVERY class to change. It's not even close to being right to allow a warlock <-> wizard conversion, without letting Paladins <-> shadowknights, swashbucklers <-> brigands, etc, conversions to happen also. Heck, even a one time change to whatever class you want.</div><div> </div><div>Once they open that can of worms, all hell will break loose if they don't do it properly and fairly.</div><p>Message Edited by Scortch on <span class="date_text">03-15-2006</span><span class="time_text">03:38 PM</span></p>

They will never allow you to break the good/evil lines. Necros will NEVER be in qeynos, and Conjurors/etc will NEVER be in Freeport.<div></div>

<div></div>Well, yea, you would have to betray to do it.

Magu

That's my entire point. You can't betray a necro to qeynos and remain a necro. Similarly, you can't simply change your class from conj->necro without betraying to freeport.<div></div>

<div></div>Yah, I thought about it breaking the whole point of the two cities<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> That's cool, I'll still betray to Freeport as originally intended. If it is simply a betrayal of one class to another that you can already CHOOSE right off, I really do not see the point of it?

The point is, at least for, say the example of Coercer->Necro:Both:Freeport ClassesMage ClassesGenerate thier largest DPS from petsNeed pets to soloHave a few helpful spells for groupsThats HOW MUCH the coercer class has changed. Why not allow somone who has a class thats chnaged fairly radically respec within the same archetype (mage) much liek WWarlock-> Wizard? After all wizards are single target, warlocks are AEO, but Warlocks did NOT start out that way.In <i>some</i> ways coercers have MORE incommon with Necros than do Warlocks with Wizards. So why not allow it? It would involve a long, rahter difficult quest, you'd lose all your class specific armor, and your ALL spells would be reset to App-1.Thats severe enough to where its not casual, but still would allow somone that would otherwise quit to transform thier class to one they want to play rather than one Sony has changed them into. This sort of thing would be very helpful for the game and players - the game get more of the classes in demand, and a wya to produce them with high levels and high level players, and not lose people to the drudery of having to grind 60+ levels to get there whiel feeling they have trhown away all the time invested in another character.  But no radical sets of changes - you'd still ahve the same number of mages, priests, scouts and fighters, jsut a different balance int he subtypes that reflect the demanads of the game as it is now.The big thing this would be for is for paying customers who do not have so much time that they can simply re-roll or grind another toon up to 60+.  And it might bring back people who quit because their class simply wasnt the one they wanted to play anymore after Sony changed it.And don't pull the snotty "Grind a new one".   Anyone that can do so already has.  I have several over 50, 2 over 60.  But I [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] sure do not want to do it yet another time.Consider that for somone with a life that may not allow them as much play time as many here have (job, family, outside interests), Level 60+ represents a pretty significant commitment in time, money (subscription paid to Sony) and opportunity cost (thats a BIG one), all stuff that is essentially discarded when you abandon the old class.  An intra-archetype  (i.e. mage-class to mage-class within your alignment restricitons) conversion quest is perfect to keep people like that in game, and add some reason for older players like posters here to revisit some old toons we were nto quite satisifed with. For example, think of all the high level Guardians that are now surplus since there really is only a call for 1-2 max on any given raid.  They could convert to another fighter type like maybe a Bruiser and be a secondary tank.   Or any of the bazillion Paladins on any server could convert to Monk if they wanted to change from utility tank to more aof a DPS role.  Same goes for priest classes (tired of being a Templar?  Go switch to something a bit less common - a Warden, etc), and the scouts (rangers could move into being a brigand if they are unhappy with Proc changes).<div></div>

Dr_Cyrus, that would make a huge problem with FOTM classes... everyone would betray to them<div></div>

<div></div>Disappointing.  So many people are waiting for this and they didn't release it last LU because it wasn't done yet.  I'm really hoping it gets added in soon.

No, they didn't release it last LU because it wasn't supposed to be released in the last LU.It has never been promised by a certain date, because they knew it had to be finished first.<div></div>
