In game Broadcasts

<div>ok not sure if anyone else is having this issue but, everytime we have a server broadcast it opens a new window for me called Tab2.</div><div>I have tried everything I know to get rid of this and it is only happening on one of my Characters and one of my Hubby's also.</div><div>The only server broadcast that has a check mark is in my regular chat window I was asked to do a petition but, there is nothing there to put it under.</div>

This has only started happening to me since switching to a non-default UI.So, are you running a custom UI, and if so, which one?<div></div>

I too have the same issue with almost all my toons but I think thats because I loaded the uisettings file from the one who initially had the 'bug' so lets start there... I would recommend deleting the [servername]_[toonname]_eq2_uisettings.ini file in you eq2 install directory and see if this clears it up...(note: you will have to redo your toons ui setup once you've done this so on the off chance this causes some other fluke to crop up don't empty the deleted files out of the recycle bin until your quite sure your good to go - recycle bin has restore option in its file menu fyi -)I think Im going to try these steps on one of my toons as well, then use the /load_uisettings command in game to use that toons new settings for all my various alts.  Good luck <span></span><span>:robotwink:</span><div></div>

Same thing happens to me on one of my characters.  It started, for me at least, during a particularly lag filled playing session.  I accidentally clicked and dragged one of my chat tabs out of the overall chat window and it created a new window.  Thinking that is was no big deal, I dragged it right back into my chat window and put it back in its spot.  But now, whenever a server broadcast message pops up, it brings up Tab 1 for me in the spot that I had accidently dragged the aforementioned tab to.  I right clicked on it once and went into Chat Options on that Tab 1, but nothing is checked.  Also, when I hit 40 with that character and was automatically added to the 40-49 channel, it put it in that Tab 1.  The last time it popped up I tried dragging Tab 1 back down to my chat window, but I can't say for sure that it has gone away since I haven't been on that character when another broadcast has happened.<div></div>

<div>next time it pops up, right click on it, and then uncheck all the boxes, then close the window...  that should stop it.</div>

<div></div><p>Happened to me on one of my toon, standard ui,</p><p>is funning having two windows both calling themself by the same tab number,</p><p>Anyhow last thing i tried was instead of closing the new one it sporned i moved all my chat from the old one to it and closed the old one, this was over a week ago and have not seen it since, not sure if i have just been lucky but I have seen a couple of server going down messages without incident.</p><p>but seem to remember that it did not happen with all broadcasts, but could be wrong as it was funny and a pain.</p>

I have tried all the aforementioned solutions, to no avail.Even if I leave the "popup" from the broadcast open in my chat window, at the time of the next broadcast, I get a new one.This wouldn't be so bad if it didn't make the new window gain focus, no matter if you're in battle, typing a long message to someone, etc.I have now tried on both default and custom ui's, towards the same result.This problem only occurs with broadcasts, so it's narrowed down to that<div></div>

same problem here,.. right now i have 14 tabs labeled <tab 1>tho this does open up another problem,.. the [<][>] buttons that are suposed to move your view right/left thru the tabs so you can see them.. doesn't work.. they stay greyed out, and the only way i see any of these other tabs, is if i physically drag the size of the box larger. almost like it only identifies that there is only 1 actual tab 1..also,.. with the recent patch, its not letting me have the same chat options on more then 1 tab.. if i select group on tab 1, and then go to tab 2 and select group chat as well, thn go back to tab 1, its no longer checked..<div></div>

<div></div><p>Gregg is right that unclicking all the channels that use the tab and closing it works...with one proviso...it took me about 13 attempts of doing this before it became permanent.</p><p> </p><p>I am sure that means that on the 13th time I did something slightly different that permanantly solved the probelm but for the life of me I can't think of anything I did differently.</p><p> </p><p>Hang in there and maybe you will make the same mistake as me.</p>
