I made this post earlier under tradeskills, but I now realize that it would be better here because I am making a suggestion for how to balance the two, here is the link to the thread so that I don't have to double post:

http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=general_tradeskill&message.id=86263

i just wanna make stuff that people will actualy wear (including me i wanna wear it), but there have been a grand total of 3 people that have commented on the boards that they would wear it and in each case it was because they didnt know about stats and its affect on them. Now if they didn't know about stats and its affect on them its likely because they were simply by chance getting items which provided decent stats ie: a matched crafted set with resists built in. Well since they will now get one shotted in matched set of armour crafted in t7 assuming the information that is being presented is accurate that is... they will start examing stats that's for sure and those 3 people will stop buying any crafted armour and start moving towards dropped items. Heck i know i am being forced to wear dropped mismatched items and abandon crafting.

I actualy think this is what sony wants NO CRAFTERS but its just a hunch at the way things are being dealth with...

Well, they want some crafters. Like tailors to make backpacks since we can't buy big ones and there are only a few quests for big bags.

Oh, and even though they hate carpenters enough to give us meat buckets, they still want us around to make strong boxes for banks.

So you see, they do want some crafters. But they could change class names to "Box maker class" and "Backpack maker class" just to make it easier for people to understand

Those of us who don't wish to join raid guilds usualy support the crafters quite a bit since its better then most of the stuff we can get. The raiders are not he majority of players, just the loudest voices on these boards. There will still be plenty of people buying crafted items.

I read the post and I'll throw in my 2CP as well:

I think this is a great idea. As SOE has really, IMHO, done a great job of making the game playable by both Solo AND Raid oriented players. Many quests, even some Heritage quests, have major portions that are soloable and then only require a group or raid for a key portion. As a mostly solo (or duo with a good friend) player this was one of the things I considered a MAJOR improvement over EQ1 which I played from the launch of Shadows of Luclin and convinced me to give EQ2 a try. I am also an avid (perhaps rabid ) tradeskiler so I have enjoyed, so far the tradeskill system (except the damnable inks )

Come on SOE, you've shown the ability to adapt (some would say "steal" ) good concepts from other MMORPG's. You've done a great job of providing solo content all the way up through DoF so far. Take that next step. If you are about to totally revamp the crafting system (in many ways for the better) DO THE RIGHT THING! Show your "ingenuity" and consider this idea for Tradeskill/Item Balancing!

Noone buys casual armor since rare version of previous tier is x2 of stats of armor that is 10 level above it.

I'm suggesting "a crafted armor should be in par with stats to 'rare crafted' armor of previous tier, not 50% lower stats. Oh as you see, I didnt use holy 'fabled' name, either here nor my previous post..

To clear more in your mind: Rare crafted armor is armor where done with Rare resources again by crafters. Tier3 version of Rare armor has +12 to stats, more mitigation then Tier4 casual crafted with less migitation and +6 to stats.

How your kinds say?

kk thnx bye

Message Edited by selch on 02-18-200611:58 AM
