If a guild dies why not make the the GSP go to whatever new guild you will join instead of having to start all over again?

That shows how much status you have contributed to the current guild you are a member of. If you join a new guild you havent contributed anything yet.

There are a couple of reasons for this, which the dev's have stated before.

First off, you're making guild breakups easier. Real people really working together need to just deal with a problem rather than breaking up over them all the time. As with these boards, the most vocal, and usually the biggest buttheads in the guild do what they do best... butt heads. Being the most vocal, they usually have a following of weaker individuals. Most of the time when a guild splits, some people just end up along for the ride. Don't get me wrong, there are many shades of grey to the types of people there are in this game, from severely treacherous to tremendously loyal, leaders, followers, hardcore and casual, we have them all.

Second, You're opening up a whole realm of bribery and griefing. Guilds stealing other guild's high status players with offers of the next several fabled loots, lots of plat, tons of starting DKP, whatever draws people.

Third, What if someone leaves their guild and hops guilds, does that mean that the previous guild potentially loses levels? if so, see above. If not, why, guilds could just hand a high status player back and forth 800 times and get max guild level in a night.

The current system has a good set of rules. You don't see a lot of guild hopping right now. Sure, some guilds absorb other guilds, some people swap guilds for time reasons, play reasons, personality conflicts, and yes, there are some people who get into a guild, bleed it dry of what they want and get out. But it's not so rampant as it would be if you messed with the Guild status and level system much more than it already ahs been.

They're my Status Points, I earned them, they shoudl follow me. They shoudl be a selling point to other guilds as well. Now yes, you get into those unsavory players that guild hop for items etc. Having taken almost a year to find a really good guild I wish I had my 80K SP to bring along to a home that really deservese it.Maybe make it painful for the players to carry their SP with them. Tac a heavy price tag to transfering your SP.Again, it is my opinon, you cannot please everyone.

The Guild Status points are for the guild, if you leave the guild they should not go with you.

However, I still earned my Guild Status Points, I'd love for them to travel with me. Especially if the originating guild is gone.In the long run it won't matter most people will make an alt and do it all over again anyway.

Well I think they should allow my GSP to go with mw also. They could atleast cap it towhere you couldn't do it but every 3mo. If you leave the guild the first time you get your GSP if you do it the second time you get 1/2 back. The third time 1/2 of that all GSP can be earned back if you stay with a guild for 6mo or longer.
