Can't buy Kick or Taunt APP II on Overlord Isle?

They are there on the merchant but nothing comes up on examine and buying does nothing either.Also I can't find recipes to make any of my starting spells higher then APP II, ie WildSwing and the 2 I just mentioned. Is that intentional?<div></div>
