My character creation never updates. I create a new toon but nothing I do updates the picture to show the change. Anyone else having this problem?

I'm assuming you are talking about appearance changes during creation (i.e. adornments, fur color, etc.). I created a new Kerran and noticed the same thing. It appears that my selections did take effect when I finalized the creation and entered the world, but there was no way to see what I would look like until it was too late to make changes.

I was able to change my apperance by logging into the game and then camping and going to the set apperance screen. Really hope they fix this by Thursday .

Im not only having the same problem with changing appearance, but it also seems to be locking me to whatever class the character at the beginning of character creation is set to. For instance, I tried to make a ranger, and the character was set to monk at the beginning of character creation. Although I selected Ranger, when I logged in I was a Monk.I also tried to change my appearance by logging out and and clicking the set appearance button, but the controls for appearance, including random/randomize, were unresponsive.

Well Monks are a much better class then Rangers anyways! :smileyvery-happy:

hehe.. had the same issues as well..

this is what i do to fix my problem.. yours may vary.

1: I create my new char, only concerned with race, class and name.

2: Log the char into game, esc outta movie and get to game world.

3: Log out of game world, camping to char select.

4: While at char select on current char that I just created.. select at bottom of screen the option to change appearance. (I choose the one at the left and not right becuase I dont use SOGA models..

5: Bring up the model i don t like and change the model into one i do like.. then save out and whala.. done.

works for me. may not work for you..

hope this helps

C

Same trouble here, I think...I'm not able to change any appearance options with either the original or "alternate" models. The character that appears after picking my race and starting city is what I get. Trying to fix it by using the "set appearance button" isn't working for me either. It's my punishment for not touching stuff on the Test Server for a week, I imagine.

Good to hear people have found some workarounds, but really, the character's appearance should be able to change during character generation without having to resort to entering the game, exiting, and using up your Set Apperance. It's a cosmetic bug, but a pretty serious one. It needs to be fixxed, preferably before it rolls onto live servers.

ditto same problem when creating a character. not bothered to reset the looks, as they will be deleted any way. has only happened for last 3 -4 days

I have the same problem but its not with all characters. Creating a male dwarf monk allowed customisation of his appearance; creating a gnome female monk did not. I haven't tried all races / sexes but there is definitely some problem there - not long to fix it either lol

I created a character last night on test. The first time I couldnt change any features and when I logged into the game she was bald. I did go back to character select and was able to make changes but they didnt seem to stay. When I logged in again all was the same as the first time and still bald. I deleted the character and restarted the game. Created the character but still not able to make changes. I logged into the game and she looked nothing like she did at creation but she had hair so I just let it go and continued. Ya, I hope they have this fixed by Thursday.

Character creating bugged - they had better fix this before they go live or else........................... I wouldn't want to have to read their E-MAIL and the hundreds of bug reports.

Noticed this too just now, i wish the armour wasn't put on the character at creation. Some people actually want to know what colour they have set for their underwear regardless whether it's ever seen or not.On a side note i think the new icons for the races look butt ugly, as if someone as tried to spruce up some screenshots with MS Paint. The Human Male and Female look completely terrible and none of them look realistic. Noticed they rearranged their order too which just shows how much time they spend working on unrequired time sinks.

Does anyone have the problem that the character creation window is so dark that you can't see the character you are creating? I haven't tried to adjust any options since i'd have to change them back when game starts....
