With the change to the newbie line of quests,Characters created before this change now have the Welcome to Norrath quest in thier active section again but speaking to the NPC(Murrar SHar or Freeport equivalent) Wont advance the quest thus cant get the book reward that was added andthe subsequent quest from that book. Also sincethe quest cant be deleted it is constantly showing way points to the NPC and sending directional info (your current destination lies somewhere south etc) to the main chat window.
