<div>I am VERY eager to use the new Mentoring system a lot to help guildies and friends lvl and not need 10 different hot bars.</div><div> </div><div>Has anyone used the new system that can tell me if it works well?</div><div> </div><div>Thanks in advance.</div>

<div>I've used it a couple of times, it worked quite well. It seems to put the skills at about the right balance for the mentored player's level.</div><div> </div><div>I haven't done any nit picking, min-maxing, parsing research on it. However, I was able to perform with the person I was mentored with and I wasn't noticably over or under powered and could full fill my party role quite well.</div>

<div></div>What happens with spells you don't normally have at level 10, like ice comet? Red out?

You still have them but they do the amount of damage you would expect at the mentord level<div></div>

<div></div><div>That seems a bit unbalanced. If I have a full array of spells and my "real" level 10 counterpart has half those spells, I would have a lot more damage potential. So I'm gonna have protoflame, forge of ro, all of that. Hmm.</div>

True but you'd be getting reduced rewards as well. Mentoring is half xp and most of the drops are useless to you<div></div>

<div></div><p>sounds ok to me to have the Nukes at level 10 if they only hiting for 10 to 20 : ) we get to have a few more attack's so ? we get no exp , we get no faction, we get no loot : ) , so we can use a couple extra attack's that are powered at the level of the player , (they will be level 10 for what an Hour even without mentoring?)</p><p>by level 15? you have all your skill's you will have thru the next 60 level's with the new 1 thru 20 system?</p>

<div></div><p>Also to my understanding, not every skill is usable if you mentor below it.</p><p>For example, I had my AoE skill with Conjurer and mentored below the level I would have it to kill Direspike with someone else. It wasn't vastly improving my killing ability, I don't even think I bothered to use it actually.</p><p>Besides most mentoring is well past level 20, where you are a lot more likely to mentor below the level where you will even have a similar skill.</p>

I'm just wondering about a few spells that you wouldn't have at a lower level. If a scout mentors down to level 13 do they still have Escape? Does it escape them half way to the safe place in the zone? If a fury mentors down to level 22 do they still have group invisibility? Does it only invis half of the group?I'm not exactly sure how the spell scaling works but my feeling is that if the spell line doesn't exist at the level you're mentoring to you shouldn't have that particular spell. If the spell line does exist when you mentor down, your spell should automatically use the spell appropriate for that level. For example if a Fury mentors down from level 24 to level 20 Bristlepelt should automatically change to Nettleshield since Nettleshield hits back at only the attacker while Bristlepelt hits the entire encounter.Othesus - Dirge - Lucan DLereVaspar - Fury - Lucan DLere<div></div>

<div>im also curious about ancient spells, do they go with you as well in a scaled down version? cause some of those no matter how scaled down would still be awesome at lower lvls</div>

You know these spells. When you mentor you are not losing levels, or abilities. You've learned these spells, you know these spells why would you somehow forget these spells? Everyone is looking to hard at the mechanics of the game, and forgetting it is an RPG. </p><p>Why is anyone complaining or worried about this, this in no way is going to promote Powerleveling. It does however make it 1 million times easier to player with other people. I know countless times I didn't mentor just because redoing all my hotkeys was a pain in the tush. Now, I may never get to 60 because I will spend 99% of my time mentoring my guildmates/friends.</p><p>It's not, ohh he's an uber level 13 pally, it's ohh, hes a level 53 pally, showing his skills to a hopeful young pally.</p>

<div>Are the lowered spells Tier related? IE will a level 55 Master mentor to a 35 Master equivalent?</div>

<div></div><p>It is not particluar balanced when mentoring down to 15 or less (or so)</p><p>My Shadowknight mentored down to 12, and was ripping through mobs at such a rate that several people I was playing with were going to reroll their chars as SKs<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.</p><p>Mentoring down to 25 produced a level 25 type experience though.</p><p>I had all my specials when mentoring down to 12.</p>

<div></div><p>Can anyone comment if poisons are also reduced or dissappear as under the present system? Atm I'm not mentoring at all as I lose 2 legendary poisons (damage and effect) + 1 common (mitigation) if I mentor down even within my current tier. Very irritating as I would love to take some of the new players to the guild through certain areas and help them.</p><p> </p>
