Unable to fight sparring partners

<div>I tried creating new characters, both good and evil, today, and was unable to get past the very first quest.</div><div> </div><div>With today's path, the first quest is to defeat on of the sparring partners, but the (expletive deleted) things refuse to initiate combat. If I attempt to use a combat art on them, I always receive a reply that I am too far away, no mattger how close I am.</div>

<div>Ouch that sucks.  I just completed that quest twice with no problems.  Must be bugged or something for ya, just not for all of us.  Seems a bit strange.  Just keep tryin I guess.</div>

<div>Ok I just did this again and many many people were having this problem.  It took me 4 attempts to get it done.  A lot of others just gave up and camped.</div>

<div></div><p>It may depend on your character class, with some classes able to inititate combat and some unable.</p><p>The characters I tried, that were unable to initiate combat, were a Troubadour and a Dirge.</p>

<div></div><div>With a conjurer I was unable to send my pet in to begin the attack, but I sure could nuke 'em <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </div><div> </div><div>The problem I had afterwards however is that my pet kept on attacking the new sparring partner in a continuous loop until I made him stop. Since the sparring partner doesn't really seem to die and instantly respawns, I think the game (as far as the pet is concerned) believes it's the same mob and will continue auto-attacking.</div>
