View Full Version : Malachite and Leaded Loam
<div>On the old Isle of refuge, beginning players could craft spell upgrades for themselves because lead OR malachite could be used to craft it. Now, this is impossible. Malachite and Leaded Loam, do not drop on the new islands, and that makes it impossible for anyone who is truely new to upgrade their spells and abilities.</div><div> </div><div>Please, whoever is responsible for this area of development, add malachite and leaded loam! Under the existing system, only a person who has a toon off the island already can upgrade their spells, which kind of defeats the purpose of having an island for new players to explore and learn on.</div>

<div></div>A dev posted (and I can't find it atm) that they were working on TS on the Isle, so this should improve. Also, App2's are also sold on the isle now.

<div>They won't be available until the next patch. When a dev adds soemthing it doesn't pop right onto test (or live). It gets queued up so the next server update those changes go in (its what they mean when they say 'next build'). You'll know when the next update is becaue it should be 19c and will be a big one between bug fixes and new content.</div><div> </div><div>As for the loams and malachite. The dev in charge of this aspect of the newbie islands said there will be a new TS tutorial going in with a 'sample platter' of recipes available to new crafters to give them a feel for crafting and that all raws needed for them will be available. This likely means that most spells will not be available for crafting on the island (unless you stick an artisan essentials book in shared slot for your newbie char to scribe). However App2's are going to be available for purchase for level 1-6 abilities. I'm assuming they're only doing through 6 because though you can level to 10 or so on the island its geared for levels 1-6 and then off to the cities to continue your life where three adventure yards are geared for 7-10 and the fourth in each city is for 10-15 then its a lead off into Antonica or the Commonlands.</div><div> </div><div>I think part of the point with limiting crafting options on the island is to encourage people to leave the island and join the rest of the world, there's plenty of time to craft once you get home. It sounds like the new crafting sampler if with tutorial (quest or two preferably) should give most a grasp on how to craft. The old tutorial lacks in that it doesn't cover reactions and counters at all, and doesn't really cover the concepts of wholesaler/workshop tasks.</div><div>I've heard people getting malachite and leaded loam on the newbie islands, its just showing up pretty rarely. I got malachite the least on the live IoR but I did get it, tin seemed the most common by far.</div>
