First I would like to say I really like the changes so far; however, the player market for 1-10 spell upgrades is extremely dry on the test server so it akes it really hard to ee if spells are upgrading properly. Would it be possible to increase the adpet drop rate for low level spells just a tad for testing purposes if nothing else. Maybe I am the only one having this problem but I have not seen a single upgrade yet.

Message Edited by VeraIkonica on 01-20-200601:35 PM

It is extremely easy to make 1-20 spells now, because you don't need any subcombines. My advice would be that you make them yourself.

Yeah not being able to craft is part of the problem. I have a 60 sage on live server and I did want to test out new crafting but we cant yet and I understand that they plan to put it in next patch. Also the reason I would like to see more adepts is because some times the developers can get a little over zealous on their CA enhancement or forget to put upgrades in the game all together. Also I dont mean that thay should keep an increased drop rate in their final update to live servers...but as far as I know there are no adepts for levels 1-10 in the game on test.

Tier 1 upgrades are non-existant, not just rare. For as many toons as I have taken past 10, I have never seen an Adept I of any Tier 1 spell/CA. Creating Apprentice versions of those spells was very easy, but getting Adept III's made was way too expensive. Considering you needed three different advanced books to just get one made, and the fact that they were extremely rare made the books cost prohibitive. Let alone the coin people expected for silver clusters or lapis lazuli gems. The devs have a very good opportunity to remedy this situation. I know it really doesn't make too much different in the game now since 3-10 go so quickly, but with the sped up crafting and more challenging mobs, these upgrades are going to be easier to create, and be much more important. A Tier 1 Adept III should go for just under 1 gold, the devs have the chance to make that feasible.
Message Edited by skidmark on 01-20-200611:34 AM

AhHA they do exist. Did you get it off a heroic or solo mob?

My coercer actually picked up a Master I the second day after TU19 was on Test =P It was a Master I for the tier 1 root she has.

That is one of the bugged ones I saw last night but could not remeber the name. The description showed it having a recast, cast time and duration all set to like 1835467 seconds or something plus it was not red so it looked like I could scribe it, but I knew that it did not belong to my class. That is also why I believe that they should drop more often because there is only so much time before they push this update to live servers so the more adpets and what not that drop the better.

Lo and behold, the first post on the list is the same thing I came to post about!I have a level ten ranger and can't craft my own upgrades due to the lockout on crafting for new characters and no one seems to be selling upgrades for the skills I have (well, other than the app IIs on the vendors). It would be great if someone who could craft the lower-level upgrades would put some up on the market, although I realize they probably would rather be doing higher-level things. The changes have been so wonderful that I want to see more, but it's a bit hard to get out and test everything if I'm operating at App II level in all skills. It means that the levels meant to be having certain encounters won't be because they won't have the skill upgrades they would normally have by this time.

I would like to add that it is hard to judge how difficult the mobs really are when you are fighting with everything at app 2. I have already seen a couple of post where people have said encounters are too strong but that is probably cause they are geared towards characters with app 4/adept 1 CA's and Spells. So in my opinion it makes hard to judge if encounters are the appropriate difficulty at the moment.Oh and I noticed that there is still a problem with, for instance, a level 9 Char fighting a level 10 solo encounter is much more difficult than a level 10 character fighting a level 11 solo encounter but that is a bit off subject hehe

Message Edited by VeraIkonica on 01-20-200612:29 PM

Actually having it at App2 is a good guage on the mob difficulty because most characters when this goes live won't get Adept1's for most of their t1 skills. They do drop off any mob but just arne't common. Also at least on test any Adept1 drop that is for the archetype of your class will scribe into the approriate skill for your class (that's why they're not red).

THey've put in the App2 and recipes for all the new 1-10 spells/CAs at least, just not all are on the existing scribes and CA trainers. Those that aren't are on new trainers in the main parts of the city for each specific class.

*Slaps herself on the forehead* doh, I forgot about the fact that new characters can't craft. My apologies, I should have thought about that.

I guess those of us with old test chars should put some 1-20 spells up for sale for a few silver then to help out.

Well I have managed to find new named mobs that drop at least adept everytime so they are available... so far cheap shot is the only bugged one that I have seen.

The new named on the Qeynos side as of 19a haven't been dropping any loot at all. THis may have changed with 19b but from what I'm hearing it hasn't been fixed yet (I've not been back to the Qeynos side yet to check). The Caves in Qeynos isn't finished yet either so I'm not really expecting new loot tables for Qeynos until the Caves get changed to have the new quests/NPCs.

Actually should have said I found named in the adventure yards that drop adepts. I have not seen any adepts on the Island yet.

Basically, adepts pretty much don't drop on the island, but do drop elsewhere.
