<div>In three days on Test I have gained no vitality. Is this being removed from game, a bug, or just out to slow player progression through 20 for testing purposes?</div><div> </div><div>I bugged it, but haven't seen anyone else with this problem posting.</div>

<div></div>My level 12 swashy I made has vitality, are you sitting around or doing non-combat quests mostly? Combat seems to eat it up pretty quickly and slow its building as long as you're gaining combat xp fairly often.

<div></div>Watch your vitality very carefully on the hour, every hour.  You should get something like .45% every hour.  If you're actively getting XP, you'll burn it up fast.  And you start a new toon at 0%.

0.5% per hour.<div></div>

<div></div>*shrug*  when I was grinding to TS lvl 60 I got a bit more than .4%.  However, since then they have adjusted gain and usage in several places.

You got 0.5% per hour, so yes, you got more then 0.4, but not much.Everyone has always gotten 0.5% per hour since day one of vitality.<div></div>

<div></div>Could be, also one of my characters is missing the 'bubble' at the end of their exp bar, but has the vitality arrow (either on the bar or at the end) and mousing over the bar shows the 'you are earning double...' message about having vitality, I just can't hover over the bubble and see the % of vitality left. I'm using the standard UI and its only affecting the one character (the first one I made after 19a). I suspect the issue was a I loaded a ui settings from a character that I think was saved when I used a custom exp bar (one that I don't use anymore). The other characters I loaded a uisettings file that didn't use any UI mods.

<div>the UI works in all other cases, so it's not the UI. Also it's not showing vitality in the persona window on the exp window, it doesn't show exp on the tooltip when I mouseover. Guys I am not new to the game, obviously you might not be getting this bug, but I am. I have submitted it in game. I was hoping SOE would shed some light on it, possibly look into it, but I might be kidding myself, as I said I am not new to the game or SOE.</div>

I use to build my own custom user interfaces in EQlive .. it could be just the mapping for the vitality experience  was changed by SOE and not cahnged in your custom UI and that will defintiely cause the appearance of 0% .. also when you are out of vitality .. in my experience it never showed 0% .. it was always 0.1% thats why I think its something wrong with your interface</p><p>Message Edited by bluefish on <span class="date_text">01-17-2006</span><span class="time_text">05:46 PM</span></p>

<div>In my experience you never saw vitality from 1 to 3 anyway since you started at level 3 default, but I will test it without a UI at all and get back to you.</div>

If you look at my post count you will notice that in more than a year I have about 45 posts in all. I spend more time playing than posting. I don't post stupid questions like where is the EQ2 start button, and how do I toggle run/walk. All I wanted to know is if you guys were experiencing it. Here is my request. Make a new character stop the advancement at level 2 or so and lay off the toon for 3 or 4 days and see if YOU have no vitality. If you do, great ... it's an isolated incident, if you don't have vitality it could end up being a bug that goes live because the test server didn't test.</p><p><span class="time_text"></span> </p><p>Message Edited by Hamen on <span class="date_text">01-17-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:37 PM</span></p>

But also realize that unless you post here regularly and the regular testers know you the first goal is to remove the LIKELY causes of a problem, and many time that means any custom UI's or UI mods. The SOE support people would have gone through the same steps. Its the type of things I used to have to go through all the time doing helpdesk. Eliminate the quick and easy first then get into the trickier stuff, especially if you don't know the person with the problem and what their skill levels are. It wasn't meant to (at least from my comments) be condescending or patronizing, just standard troubleshooting procedure. I'd expect those questions and suggestions from people myself as I'm fairly new to the test forum (I post mainly on the quest one since I'm a quest-a-holic).

<div></div>I'm an engineer, I tend to exhaust all other possibilities before asking others. That's why I asked if anyone else was experiencing it, not why is it happening.

If anyone hadn't noticed, you don't gain tradeskill vitality unless you're something like artisan level 6 or higher... if I remember correctly, the same thing applies to adventure xp <span>:smileywink:</span> Try levelling up a a bit and let us know if the problem persists.<div></div>

<div>Upon dinging level 4 I showed 65.5 percent vitality. This means I was gaining vitality but not using it. While level 1-4 go fast, who is to say where else this will crop up. I bugged it, it's just a shame I'm the only one interested in testing it, on a "Test" server.</div>

<div>I think that's because most get to level 4 within half an hour, not enough time to build up vitality. Also unless you make a character and deliberately log out to try to get vitality it will never be an issue. A new player isn't likely to stop playing before they hit 4, if they do its likely they won't be playing again. I suspect the system never had vitality show for under 4 because on the old system you hit level 3 by the time you started fighting anything and even then most weren't going to be logging out at 3 and trying to gain vitality to make that short jump from 3 to 4.</div><div> </div><div>I suspect this isn't a bug but a system feature that wasn't documented before because for all intents and purposes it wouldn't have been noticable. Now that you can leave the island at 1 and it can take longer to hit level 4 they may want to point out the way vitality works.</div>
