Not sure if it's just me, but I started new newbie characters today: an evil DE necro, and a good half-elf monk.  It felt like it took absolutely forever to get from level 2-3, enough so I actually started looking at my xp bar.  I think the problem I had was that many of the quests didn't scale up correctly in ability for these characters (quests jumped from like level 1 to 3, and one of my level 3 quests had multiple mobs come per pull) so I actually had to go out and kill random mobs just to get that level in order to finish additional quests.I don't expect xp to come fast mind you, but from a newbie perspective, I think it's a little slow at those early levels.  3-5 seemed reasonably fast so I guess it's just getting over that hump I suppose.<div></div>

This means this is on test and you talk about live.</p><p>A lot of things have changed on the newbie isle. The xp is a bit slower than it used to be, I agree with the OP. But I could still get to lvl 5 pretty ok fast, by following the quest line. The xp will come, but not quite so fast as it used to be.</p><p>But some of the quests are not done yet and some are missing text etc etc. I'm not even sure we have seen all the quests yet that there will come. So I believe more quest xp will come later on <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p> </p>

<div>I had no problems ... I really liked what they did with the new isle. I was doing a Freeport isle Warden last night and did the end encounter at 5th level, pretty much just about the same time it used to get done with the Orc. Tonight I'm going to investigate Qeynos side and see what the differences are.</div><div> </div><div>All in all, I think these changes were much needed for the shortgame and will induce "altaholism" on the populous <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I'll finally get to see what its like being a coercer, without having to wait too long.</div>

<div></div>I really would love for the developers to throw us a bone and increase our character slots with this new expansion.  Unfortunately, I will never be able to see the IoR again since all my character slots are gone.  It's a shame since I have quite a bit of altitus in the games I play.................:smileysad:

<div></div><div>I as well had no problem, tho I was doing Queen's Colony.  Also keep in mind, they said they were increasing XP on quests there, and adding more quests, so that should balance it IMHO.</div><div><strong></strong> </div><p>Message Edited by DarkfiendLightbearer on <span class="date_text">01-13-2006</span><span class="time_text">08:28 AM</span></p>

They're looking into XP amounts, so things should go slightly faster.<div></div>

Don't forget that when you first start off you have 0 banked Vitality. That'll contribute to the slow exp as well.<div></div>

I spent ages just getting a Brigand to 3 last night, too.  I think the major problem was in the tuning of some of the quests actually to be doable by a level 2.5 character -- those bears sucked, hehe.Actually finishing the quests available got me a mini-ding almost without fail each time, though.  So I think once they make some tweaks to get the quests more readily finishable, it'll be fine. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />It may take longer than it used to to get through newbie isle, but I think it's much more pleasant and engaging.<div></div>
