<div><p>From LU 19:</p><p>Haste, DPS, and run speed are now displayed in the Persona window.</p><p>I wonder how SOE will calcul our DPS. Based on average damage we do against a mob of our level, with the weapons currently equiped? Or will the number change after each mob we kill? Any info will be appreciated. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p></div>

Based on the way that dps buffs work, the dps number will most likely be based off of your auto attack rating and not off any parsed data.<div></div>
In this case, DPS doesnt refer to your average dps you do on fightsIT refers to the DPS buffs, like beserk state, or other DPS buffs you get from diferent clases. It will indicate the amount of DPS buffs you have, same with the haste.
Yes, this will only display the amount of modification from spells. It will NOT be a parser in any way, shape, or form.<div></div>
I'm kind of disapointed with this if it doesn't show your actual dmg in real time, because for a lot of classes these two numbers will have absolutly no meaning and will be just a waste of space.Namely casters and healers, If the dps doesn't show your actual dps imo its pointless.<div></div>
You're welcome to think that, which is why we have external parsers.<div></div>

I tend to agree with this being a waste of time, if it does not tell me DPS during combat intervals, it is a complete waste of a stat and pointless really for casters.<div></div>

<div>The last thing you really want is the client calculating your dps over any given interval for every player online. Lag will become excessive on raids. IMHO anyway</div><div> </div><div>Sark.</div>

maybe the name "dps" is misleading. but it shows your dps increase through buffs etc. i like it being shown.

For a class like an Assassin, it's actually quite handy to have that little Haste and DPS marker, because it lets you know what your buffs do, if they stack, and how they work. (It also tells you that a fair number of things don't apply when you're in stealth.)I spent some time playing around with my various Haste and DPS buffs just standing on the Sinking Sands dock, to see what happens. Now I know that I have a buff combination that will raise my auto-attack DPS by 85% -- and that's a cool thing to know when soloing.<div></div>
