<div>Im disturbed by further blurring between Qeynos and Freeport. Aren't the cities economies meant to be segregated? I liked how evil/good couldnt trade, it added a nice element of realism to the game, where illicit trading happened face to face in dark corners.. I can't see black market deals now being legal adds anythign to the game apart from ease of twinking alts (and with a guild you could do this anyway using the guild vault - but thats a perk of being in a guild surely?)</div>

<div></div>YOu never know, SoE could be headed down the route of dynamic changes to the world.  Something like; Qeynos and Freeport form an alliance to face a new threat from outside (Orcs and Gnolls ally construct their own city on a hereto undiscovered Island and now threaten all sentinent beings).

<div>Yeah, this seems a bit ridiculous. There was another post where someone wanted all classes available in both cities which made me real mad and if they ever did that I would quit right there. Can you imagine paladins living right next shadowknights? I believe that it is very important to create a setting in these games full of lore, history, rules and factions and they are starting to just disregard that because it inconviences some people. I can't honestly believe that the Overlord would not have a problem with Qeynos goods flooding his city. There needs to be more rivalry added between these two cities which PvP will hopefully help with. Please do not start combining these two cities! This world is already lacking a lot of depth, do not take anymore away!</div><div> </div><div>Riev Fay'Dorn</div><div>47 Ranger/42 Woodworker</div><div>Lucan D'Lere</div>

<div></div><p>I think it's a good change. That restriction was only an annoyance anyway. Especially for crafters. And it was easy to circumvent too (using a mule char in the opposing city and exhanging coin/items using the guild bank and sending the mail from that char, for example). Which is of course only.... annoying. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>From a roleplay point of view it's ok too. Freeport and Qeynos are not at war. They just don't like each other. They could ask for a higher fee if the recipient is in the opposing city though.</p><p>Btw, to make every class available in each city would be a bad move in my oppinion.</p>

I like the change too.  Guild banks are not that controllable and in a big guild it would be risky to use it to, for example, transfer a pearl from my evil character adventurer to my Qeynos crafter to make into a spell.  There are currently no restrictions on my guild bank on Splitpaw which say that only the depositor of an item should be able to withdraw it.  The nature of the guild bank is that items are deposited for any who need them. This change should make life easier for crafters and their customers in most cases I think.<div></div>

<div></div><p>As a guild crafter this is a superb change as many people in guild send me materials and 3 of my crafters are FP based which makes it a frustrating experience as our guild bank is usually heavily stocked up with donated items. It also presents a security issue as my crafters are forced to leave items for people from the other city in the guild bank.</p><p>Usual work around is to simply meet people at SS and you see this ALL the time if you watch carefully. Problem mainly comes because both parties need to be online and free at the time.</p><p>Even in the old days people in my situation used to just dual log accounts to pass materials from one account to the other sothe demand for this change has been around for a LONG time.</p><p>Thumbs up SoE!</p><p> </p>

<div>I have to say that I am happy with this change, it will be nice to be able to mail armour to the opposing city to both guildies and clients.</div><div> </div><div>With regards to 'why'. IMO the whole good Qeynos Vs evil Freeport looses its meaning as soon as you step outside those cities. Now from a roleplaying POV maybe that still remains outside the boundaries, but to your average Joe I don't think it has much meaning. So being able to mail to your opposing city could just be an extension of this... As has been said by previous posters we/people already work around the limitations of the mail system with Guild Banks, SS etc etc.</div><div> </div><div>Ooh and also all your Romeo and Juliets out there can now mail your significant other on the opposing city, how romantic.</div>

<div></div>I agree that it's a good change, I hated having to wait till my usual armorsmith was online, and then go meet him to give the rares and gold for the armor, and then wait till he's done, and then go meet up with him again to get my armor.  Now I can just mail the rares and gold at my convience, and next time I log on the armor will be waiting in my mailbox.

<div></div><p>I am happy about the change, no more needing my hubby logged in to pass stuff between my two mains. And if the roleplayers are so upset about it just dont use it. For crafters this will be great no more meeting in SS to trade items with people and maybe more sales for the few FP crafters. Personally I would like to see the crafting channel and traders chat channels cover both cities as well. Unless you are on a server that will be PvP or maybe one of the two RP servers I see no reason not to converse with the other city.</p><p>But all classes available in both cities would be pushing it. Once again great chance for the mail system Devs I am very impressed with all the changes so far in this update. Thanks for listening!</p>

This change simply eliminates tedium.  Was anyone acually *paying* for smuggling or just using guildbanks and/or annoying friends?  Allowing mail between the two cities is smart.  Anyone who wants an item from an opposing city will get it anyways, this just cuts down on the hassle.<div></div>

This is a great change!  I would, however, be in favor of it costing more to send to the opposing faction, but overall I'm glad they're alleviating the tediousness of getting items to the other faction. <div></div>

<div></div>This is a great change!! If you don't like it and are a roleplayer don't use it. The majority of the players don't really play the good vs. evil thing between Freeport and Qeynos. To most they are just two different cities and that is it period. The current system has just been a thorn for the majority of the players.

I am happy to see this implemented.  I feedbacked it a long time ago.  If Fences can smuggle items in between the cities for an increased fee, why can't mail couriers smuggle mail in between cities for an increased fee? I am very excited about this change.I would like to see the cities similar to EQ1, where the only penalty for going to an oposing city is the guards can kill you.<div></div>

<div></div><p>From an economic standpoint, has anyone compared the items for sale on Freeport to Qeynos. On both servers I've been on, Qeynos rules and Freeport suffers. As a crafter, I've been quite disturbed to hear people say they won't buy items in freeport because of the fense fee. Unless I find a way to get items to a twink in Qeynos to sell, I have about half my normal market. The mail is but the first step, in my opinion. It will be a great help although many have been using the guild bank for such trades since it came out.</p><p>Though I won't be the first to suggest it, broker fees and fense fees need to be eliminated or greatly reduced.</p><p>Broker fees, though not horrid, usually end up hampering sales more than removing gold from the market. Large item sales are conducted in person when someone gets on, instead of using the off-line sales option. The only times people use the broker are when they have to (crafter alt sales) or for small items where the fee is negligible. Whereas these fees do serve a purpose (one of only 3 methods for removing gold from the world) the economies of freeport cities have been greatly hampered and evil crafters are not given equal footing.</p>

Currently, someone from Qeynos can sneak into West Freeport and use the mail box there to mail an item to someone in Qeynos but can't mail that same item to someone who lived in the Inn where the mail box stands... yeah.. that makes sense *rolls eyes*I am an RPer.  The mail system and who you could mail to or not completely didn't make sense in any realistic way.  When mail first went in, what I would have liked to see (what I would -still- like to see) is mail costs based on the current location of the sender and the home location of the receiver with an additional fee to receive in some locations. Examples of what -I- would have liked to see:-  Rijacki in Baubbleshire mails Uteg in Greystone.  Postage is the current 50c.  Uteg, however is in the Commonlands, so it is an additional 50c to pick it up because of the distance from home, but if he had picked it up in Antonica or from any Qeynos mail box it would have been free.-  Rijacki is in West Freeport and mails Trollkillt in Big Bend.  Postage is 50c because she's in Freeport.  Trollkillt picks it up in Big Bend, no cost.-  Rijacki in Baubbleshire mails Regn in Willow Wood.  Postage is 50c.  Regn picks it up on the docks in Thundering Steppes for 10c more since he's away from home and using a delivery service  (with +10c for each zone teir after). To me, that would have made a lot more sense than mail delivery based on city allegiance. The Norrathian Postal Service is jsut revealing how non-politically aligned they are... Like the Griffon Tamers Union.<div></div>

<div></div><div>I've wanted this change for a really long time.  I do all my Sage work through mail orders, so I can do a days worth of orders at one time at the end of the day.  I always have to ask the question "are you from Qeynos or Freeport?" and I always cringe when they say Freeport because that means I have to go meet them in person, TWICE, once for the pick up and once for the delivery.  I'm usually off raiding or in a group doing something, and since I'm west coast a lot of those east coasters go to bed early before I can meet them.  It's just a hassle, for me and for them. </div>

<div></div><div></div><p>It simply did not make any sense in making things a hassle for the players, with the way things were done. I mean if you can group with each other and guild with each other, trade with each other and interact with each other in many ways, then why keep the mail seperate? It was simply an artificial barrier that really did not belong, considering.</p><p>Message Edited by Successer on <span class="date_text">01-12-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:57 AM</span></p>

<div>Gnomish Greetings!</div><div> </div><div>I always wondered why some smart NPC from the Far Seas Trading company didn't pick up on the need for cross city mail.  Heck, I would have done it had I been allowed.  Perhaps there will be a new quest in which you can deliver the mail. </div><div> </div><div>I like the change.  I could get items from one side to the other it was just a pain to do before the guild bank.</div>
