The one thing i would love to see is upgradeable housing WITHOUT moving. Renovate your home add an extra room (pocket dimension) upgrade your home by paying status and weekly rent.

This way No moving neccesary. I am attached to the zone i live in. But my pets are crowding my space

Yeah, I'd love to be able to get a bigger house, but not leave Willow Wood. My wood elf just couldn't call any other zone home :smileyhappy:

I'm not sure I like the idea of having large apartments available in the hamlets/districts of the cities as they are meant to be stepping stones to the bigger city. Yes, Baubbleshire has a nice feel if you are a halfling, but when you get to be a level 60 Bezerker, don't you think you should move into more opulant quarters within the city walls? I do think there should be a way to upgrade and move automatically. I have a two room house in NFP and the only reason I haven't moved into a bigger one in Maj'Dul is that it would take me forever to move 200 peices (plus a full house vault) of furniture, many of which are lore, no-trade status items and books.

There has to be an easier way. Clicking on a house, buying a new house which automatically removes your old old house and moves all your stuff, even if placed randomly, would be nice.

It would be nice if Eldar Grove had housing, I could live with housing in that zone too

One quick suggestion that I use for moving is to use freebie houses under my alts to use as temporary storage space. Simply add your main character as a trustee of the alts newbie house and you can dump up to 100 items on the floor in there temporarily. Have more than 100 items? Then create another alt and use his house too. :smileywink:

If something like this was implemented to current housing you would prolly have to zone over to another room, I know alot wouldn't like that.

Instead I would suggest for future housing projects make unlockable doors or unlockable walls to other rooms that you can purchase, sort of like when you buy tiles or wall paper.

Message Edited by Heart's Rage on 01-09-200601:10 PM

That makes no sense though. You're in an inn. You can't simply renovate an inn to add a single room to one of the existing ones.It could fit with the 3-room and 5-room houses, since they stand alone, but not the inn rooms.

I dislike the idea of upgradeable housing in that sense. I like having to move into the city if you want better than the allotted housing. However, after just recently moving into a 3bdrm I no all too well how difficult they made it. I suggest implementing a "moving service."

Simply right click your door to the current house you are living in and select move, rather than collect all contents (which is stupid)

When done a NO TRADE NO VALUE NO RENT 100% weight reduction box spawns in the middle of your room with all household items you own inside. Items left by other people will need to be collected by them or left as usual, but then all you need to do is have one free bag slot available to actually move. They can even make the box HOUSE ITEMS ONLY (similar to the harvesting bag you can get) so that it cannot be exploited in a manner other than its intended use.

Anyway, you bring this with you, purchase your new house and then drop everything from it into the new house and rearrange at your leisure.

Having to create alts or get others to help hold stuff is a great pain and I am sure prevents some people from moving into the designed apartments/houses in either primary city or in Maj'Dul or future expansions. Hope that one of the developers comes across this forum.

Okay have at it! Shoot it full of holes because I am sure I am forgetting something, and know for a fact that not everyone would be pleased by this implementation for one reason or the other.

~Knayyan Occisor'Viscus

60th Level Shadowknight Antonia Bayle

Message Edited by korruptidsoul on 01-10-200610:26 AM

Since they locked the housing forum, I'll just copy what I had to say in the older thread on this topic.

Liol wrote:

As the game progresses and our levels keep going up(adventurer, tradeskiller, and guild), we will eventually need larger houses to hold all our crap.So why not boost the suburbs to one and two room apartments around the same time as introducing 6~7 room housing to the inner city.---SOE already added a mini event to upgrade TS/Nek with griffon towers, why not have some kind of event to upgrade the suburbs from only one room apartments to one and two room apartments. Or add in a quest line that ends with giving individual characters access to a two bedroom apartment in the starting inns.

I really like the idea of having a two-room unlockable in the villages if you do a quest. It would be like earning the 'good room' at the inn. :smileywink:

I think one of the biggest things about this is accessability.... The Starter areas are more easily accessable, meaning you can get to either Commonlands or Antonica Via the bell on the docks, they have banks and tradeskill instances and they are only 1 zone away from either East Freeport or Qeynos Harbor where you can get a ticket for boat travel to TS or Nek.... As for Inner-City sections ( IE North Freeport, West Freeport, North Qeynos, South Qeynos) they either lack banking, tradeskill instances, access to overland zones (Antonica / Commonlands), so you end up having to zone multiple times just to conduct your daily business....

I like the idea of larger housing in the starter areas, just because of the Accessability issues... At this time one of my characters has a 2 bedroom house in North Qeynos, but because of all the added zoning I need to do to get there, I rarely ever go there, and if it wasn't for the fact that I can't hold everything that is in my house inside my bank, I would just get rid of the 2 bedroom appartment all together....

My Crafting character still has just the newbie inn room, as it would be a pain in the butt to have to travel 2-3 zones over just to put my crafted wares up for sale....

To put it as simple as possible, the larger style houses are just plain inconvient....

Gwern - 60 Assassin - Kithicor

There have been lots of posts of people about making the game too easy. I may agree or disagree with some of them, but i really agree with the ones who say that repeating X task a ton of times isn't fun. Moving 100-200-XXX items from house to house is not fun at all, and it wont affect gameplay if removed. The actual system is a PITA and should be changed. There are a few great ideas in this post. I like the idea of the NOTRADE-NOVALUE-LORE-NOZONE 100% weight chest that carries your stuff from home to home, charge some money for it (like for a moving service), everyone will gladly pay some money to avoid the meaningless task of picking hundreds of items, place some in your alts, overflowing inventory, etc.

On the other hand i agree also with the ones who ask for larger housing in the starter areas. I was goingo to write the reasons, but Aienaa just read my thoughts and posted them before me , so i couldn't agree more with him.It is realistic, as Sulas wrote, and it suits roleplaying too: "I live where my parents lived. I would gladly pay some more coin to find a bigger housing next to them rather than moving far away from my hometown and my ancestors hometown", make it questable if you wish.

I agree that larger homes in the starter burgs would be great. The city homes seem really due for an upgrade in choices and I think they would be much more desireable if the city zones themselves got a bit up graded.

Bank, Bell, Broker and Crafter Supply Depot in each of the city zones would make them much more appealing IMO.

Morgaine
