Am I not the only one who thinks there should be a window you can pull up on your character and it show the instanced zones you are locked out and the timers on them?

They obviously have timers attached to your toon. There is nothing more frustrating in raids or as a guild leader here getting setup and to zone into an instance to find out someone is locked out.

It is already a pain as it is to have up to 7 day lockouts, even on failures for example zones like the Court. If you don't kill one named you are locked out for 6 days - what for?!?

Anyhow to stay on my topic, I have put in feedback about 50 times in hopes for this to be added. For example if you plan and or do Lockjaw once a week to farm it, would be much easier to pull up your window and see when you are able to attempt again.

Anyhow my thoughts

Raziel

Najena

Message Edited by Akacia on 12-28-2005 06:24 AM

It has been suggested many times and acknowledged by the developers as a good idea. That's the latest, as far as I know.

Right now.. last night a trio of us (ranger 42, wizard 41, and paladin 39) were in Nek Castle and had been able to successfully get lockets from all but 2 of the sisters after just doing some wanderin' and exploring. We'd like to go back in tonight and get deeper... but preferrably with another person or two *chuckle*... it would be real annoying to get all the way up to the castle and discover we can get in. It would be better to access that data while still in town finishin' up the mending and the like (we had to leave last night because we all were 1 death away from bits and pieces falling off *laugh* but we were having fun *grin*)

Been /feedbacking in game and on the forums for this for a loooong time! It's just as irritating for groups as for raids: spend time getting everyone together, finally get ready to zone in and... locked out, what an anticlimax! Even more annoying when you don't know for sure what the lockout timer is on a particular instance. :smileymad:

Ideally, I'd like to see two things:

A window of your own personal timers. For all instances you've ever visited, it shows:

instance name

parent zone name (from which you reach the instance)

zone lockout timer

remaining personal lockout time

minimum number in party/raid required for entry

minimum adventure level required for entry

A popup window when you click the door to enter an instanced zone with a lockout timer. This popup windows indicates:

instance name

zone lockout timer

remaining personal lockout time for you and everyone in the group/raid (if the instance has been visited before)

-or- a window pops up for every member of group/raid indicating their own remaining lockout time

minimum number in party/raid required for entry

minimum adventure level required for entry

option to Enter Zone or Cancel !!

The personal timer window would only show instances you've already visited, to avoid giving away later content.

Failing that, just idea number 2 would be a great step forward -- heck, even if it only showed your own remaining lockout time! Personally, I wouldn't care if I had to run all the way to an instance's front door to check my remaining lockout time, as long as there is some way to check it on demand without risking zoning in!

The other points are mainly for convenience. If you know you have a raid or guild event planned in x days, it would be great to know if you can safely enter an instance without the lockout overlapping your event. The minimum party number/adventure level are also critical for planning, as well as on-the-spot group and raid formation.
Additionally, I'd like to see an option added for Raid Leaders to set who can zone the raid into an instance -- anyone, group leaders, raid leader only. God knows this would save a lot of hiccups...

I understand why there are lockout timers on certain instances and I have no problem with them. That said, SOE has to realise they are an intrinsic part of the game -- increasingly so, as it has developed -- and, as such, there need to be visible cues associated with them. I don't mind restrictions on content access but the current systems (or lack thereof) can cause major inconveniences that stretch way beyond the simple inability to zone in.

The "enter zone" or "cancel" window is a good idea. I can't tell the number of times in the last year I've gone exploring, zoned into somewhere, thought, "oh, it's a heroic/epic zone," then gone with a group a day or two later to find that my exploration has resulted in five more days of waiting before I can actually enjoy the zone. It would have helped massively in my newbie days. And the timers would be decidedly handy. Especially in a situation whereyou've got 30 people willing to raid, you pick 24, and then you get where you're going and discover 3 can't come in. Knowing that ahead of time would have helped a great deal.

I concur. I have (along with MANY others) accidently clicked wrong zone or was unsure what lockout requirements were? and ended up logging back out of zone and cant raid with my guild for 7 days because of nothing???????? FIX THIS PLEASE!!!

Devs have stated they want the game to be more ACCESSIBLE but mandatory lockouts when nothing was killed or you accidently zone on but youre facing the mirror in Shimmering Citadel and it zones you back out????

I know making a zone timer interface might take a cpl of updates BUT at least allow people to zone out and have free entry if they do not kill anything or within 1 min or give them a ENTER this ZONE button or something which should be much easier for the meantime.

.02

Good idea, heck, I'd even settle for a right click on the zone door to see how much more time you have to re-enter.
