<DIV>Just wondered why the new troub Aqs are actually worse in both look and stats to the original tradelink stuff? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Why do they get stamina and wisdom but no int? No int?? Why do they seem to be lower in resists and also have less mitigation? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now to the look. Pale blue. PALE BLUE? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lets see. Amongst the scout classes which ones should look, well, the dullest and most non-descript? That's right of course, it should be the bards. This helps to lend some consistancy to the class since you won't notice their impact upon an encounter should you be kind enough to let one join your raid either. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>'Who's that pale looking dude at the back of the group? What part did he play in defeating the dragon?' </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>'Oh, that's just our troub. He's not really supposed to be in the picture since he didn't do anything. Can you cut and paste?'</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So any other classes feel their new Aqs are worse than their old ones? </DIV>

As an old time eq1 bard, I want something close to the original lambent armor.  <span>:smileywink:</span> <div></div>

Heh, I understand - you should have seen the original Guardian AQ armor - solid PINK.  Thankfully, someone in red realized that went a little too far <span>:smileyvery-happy:</span> and changed it to white plate with red chain.<div></div>

Personally, I like it, I wear it when i'm not out adventuring and switch off when I go adventuring.  Tastes are subjective or so it would seem.

If you look at the armor and compare it to the other AQ, you will find that the original AQ will have about 130 more AC than the old.  HP and power are about equal, but resists are WAY down from the original AQ. Then look at the level you can wear each item.  They are all listed as level 20 items.  The original AQ had a few pieces at level 24, and you can be sure that NO level 20 will be able to complete the Edgewater part of the quest (freeport) and I doubt the COB part for Qeynos.  I am not sure if the quests were adjusted in terms of the amount of stuff you need to kill, but the zones are the exact same. Some of them look better, some of them look way worse.  I have YET to find one single Bruiser who actually likes the look of the AQ.  So we have one entire class who absolutley hates the look, so why was it changed?  Cause Moorguard (or whoever) plays a Bruiser, and he thought with his incredible background in Art (read none) that this new look would actually please people. Point is, let the artists work their magic.  When you let number jockeys stick their heads into the pot, you end up with the Bruiser AQ...I feel bad for the graphic designers working on EQ2 that they have to answer to these clowns. Anways, AQs have been tremendously nerfed in terms of mitigation, so any class that relys on the mitigation can look elswhere.  Resists dont really play a part in the level 20 game, but it sure doesnt look good to have a numer that was 400, now 200. I kept my original Bruiser set and am wearing it.  I bought the new set, compared, and quickly sold it back to the assistant and threw a snowball at him. SUW

I like the new zerker armor graphics.  Just one change would be needed to make them really good and that would be to turn the purple parts to a dark red. <div></div>

Looks are such a matter of taste that it is pointless to discuss it on that level, unless the txture is obviously flawed (gaps, mismatches, etc.). To say it "went wrong" is kind of arrogant. Why not give an honest opinion without interjecting a subjective judgement on the things? You should say, "I don't like it, and this is why...," not "it went wrong." It's not like you are the only player in the game, and clearly someone on the art team thought they looked good. You cna dispute thier taste as much as you like, but there is no right and wrong here, only like and dislike.

<DIV>Just look at what they did with the paladin AQ... paladin armor is supposed to be shiny and impressive... not this dull grey crud.  I'll just stick with my carbonite vanguard, thank you very much.</DIV>

<div></div><p><font size="3">The stats are worse.  Is there a name for that?  Oh yes, I remember now:</font></p><p><font color="#ccff00" size="5">NERF</font></p><p><font color="#ffffff" size="3">'Its a big stinking ugly-colored nerf, why all the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]-footing around?</font></p><p><font color="#ffffff" size="3">In DoF there are plenty of quests that end in items, but mostly poor to mediocre items.  If you are a very casual player, or for some other reason very cash-poor, you can outfit yourself with the stuff.  Otherwise, you sell most of it off to the merchants.  (Most of it is Lore no-trade so you can't put it up for sale, protecting the crafters even from poor items.)  In it's place you assemble whatever you can from a few longer more difficult quests or raid loot or whatever you might find on the market.  And the lack of good quest loot means buying a good bit of crafted stuff, depending on your individual circumstances I guess (how much you raid, etcetera).  Stuff crafted from rares, imbued where available, is actually quite good, but even then how good would sales and prices be if there was too much competition from sellable loot?</font></p><p><font color="#ffffff" size="3">Having great AQ stuff means crafters aren't going to sell much at that level (low 20's).  But the worse they can make it, the less people will do the quests, and the shorter the time they will hang on to it if they get it.  I'm pretty sure it is an old complaint of Tailors and Armorsmiths.  The dev's must have decided a nerf was needed, and the new colors are just camouflage.  The worse the colors the bigger the distraction, perhaps?</font></p><p><font size="3"></font> </p>

<div></div><p>If you can't see the difference between old AQ and the new AQ, you should look up the stats on Ogaming or something for the old stuff...  You will then notice that every piece of armor has somehow lost 10 mitigation (per piece minimum)....  You will also notice all pieces of armor are Level 20, even though most of it you can't get till your mid to late 20's...  IE I finished my BP and Legs on my bruiser when he was level 27....  The mobs I had to kill for it were yellow con at the time....  That means my BP and legs will be usefull for all of 3 levels until I upgrade to T4 armor at level 30....</p><p>The only thing that AQ has going for it right now is that the armor has stats that are more appropriate for the class, but with the reduction in Mitigation, level of the armor and difficulty to obtain the AQ Armor makes it hardly worth obtaining....</p><p>Gwern - 60 Assassin</p>

But the OP stated a picture is worth a thousand words, it looks to me that that one is only worth two, different color.
