<DIV>This is going to be a fairly long post depending on how long I can stay awake.  We all know there are many, MANY things that can be changed in eq2 to make it a better game.  I left eq2 after the first month it came out and started playing WoW.  I have to say, WoW is a much better game in everything except graphics, but the reason I came back to eq2 was because I enjoy the environment in a game more than gameplay.  WoW gives a very unreal effect when playing, it's not like eq where you feel as if you are actually in the game.  Anyway, before I talk too long about this I'm gonna start suggesting some changes, please feel free to disagree with any of these things they are just personal preferences and ways I think the game would be better.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>1. Quests</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>  problem is</DIV> <DIV><STRONG></STRONG> </DIV>

Quests</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>  Problem is too many pointless quests.  Nothing is worst than running into a farmer and having him ask you to kill 20 bugs because they are ruining his crops, then 20 wolves because they scare him, then 20 bats because they do something else.  It's tedious and not rewarding! Lessen the quests, broaden the RP of them.  Make quests a more valuable experience, not some crap that just wastes time and awards 2 silver.  I play a 27 ranger and already I have over 60 quests in my journal, more than half of which are pointless kill 10 mobs for some guy quests.  The lore is important, and the diversity between challenging group quests and solo quests should be done better.  There should be quests that only take 10 minutes to do, and quests that take days to do, but regardless of time the storyline should be good.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>2. Boats</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>  A lot of different opinions on this matter.  I think that boats should be put in the game, nothing is more unrealistic than a bell that just teleports you to your next destination.  Boat rides would give the game a whole new level of realism and excitement.  Have ocean zones, and maybe even be able to buy your own boats.  It's a must in eq2, dumbest idea ever to take out boats.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>3. Interface</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>  I know I'm going to forget things because so much is wrong with the interface.  Some things are such a huge pain, like having people disband and reinvite for raids, give the raid leader more abilities.  Being a raid leader means nothing right now, it would be much better if we could drag and move people where we wanted, and not have to invite another group to form a raid.  Linking items, you should be able to link items that you don't possess in your inventory.  The dragging an item into the chat window is really annoying, just make it an easy shift click that can be done even when inspecting others.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>4. PvP</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>  PvP is a must, whether you integrate it into the current servers or makenew servers for it.  The reason that games like WoW have such great success is because of PvP.  Class balance seems fine in eq2 and PvP would work well.  I think a PvP between Freeport and Qeynos citizens would be best, same goes for qeynos/freeport guards aggroing non citizens.  I hate going to Freeport and having the guards not rush me, what is that? I can't kill them either, and it sucks.  Maybe creating an honor system like WoW would be a smart idea?  Something like status points for kills.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>5. Civilizations</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>  One of the things I loved about eq1 was that you could travel to a different continent and find a new land inhabited with a new race.  The thing that sucks about eq2 is they are all crammed in two different cities.  It would be nice if there were other areas, say, up in Everfrost, where friendly barbarians have made their home.  I don't mean have players start in those places, or even live there, I mean safe refuges for people to stop at despite the fact that it's a high level zone.  Again, I am only a lowbie in this game and I'm not sure they might have these already but I don't think they do.  It would be nice though to stop in the middle ofyour adventures through the icy mountains of everfrost and stay at a Barbarian inn and have an ale.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>6. Player emotes</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>  There should be a sit down in chair emote and a lie down in bed emote.  Nuff said.  Sucks that we have beds and chairs but we can't use em.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That's about all I can think of for now, pardon if some of these sound unreasonable, and I'm sure I left out a lot but again it is very late here (almost 3am).  I think that if all of these things could be brought into the game with a patch (NOT EXPANSION) it would be great.  Expansions are just a way of milking our money, I hate how SOE has expansions while other games make huge updates with patches.  Just make a huge patch with PvP content, new emotes and interface options, quality quests, BOATS AND OCEAN ZONES, and perhaps more friendly factions out in the middle of no wheres.  Hope to get tons of replies<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

Many that dont. Heritage Quests are a good start here. Almost all of Bloodlines and Splitpaw quests are lore driven. The small kill this kill that are to help EXP as you get the EXP for kill and the turn in as well as some coin and maybe a trinket. Not all quests will be lore driven or Epic in content. The fact that there are many kinds of quests not just one set for one type of play is a pluss not a minus.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>2. <FONT color=#ff3300>I would love to see boats. During Beta they had them but for one reason or another they did not work out. Even if they do add them in later I dont think you will see the bells and Griffon towers going anywhere. They are an intrical part of the game and will prob always be here.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>3. <FONT color=#ff3300>I have heard many say they would like to see Raid Leaders move players from one group to another. It actualy sounds like a good idea. It just has not been put in and maybe its just as simple as a code issue or more complicated as the team that runs that part of the game cant deside if its worth doing. Time is your best bet here.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>4. I think its time you looked up the lore as it stands in EQ 2. The reasons why we only have 2 cities. The reasons why we are just starting to discover small bits of whats left of this world. It might help here.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>6. Player emotes</STRONG></DIV> <DIV>  There should be a sit down in chair emote and a lie down in bed emote.  Nuff said.  Sucks that we have beds and chairs but we can't use em. <FONT color=#ff3300>This is being worked on now. The issue they are having is that they have so many races and sizes of chars and differant sizes and styles of beds and chairs its going to take time. Dont look for this anytime soon.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That's about all I can think of for now, pardon if some of these sound unreasonable, and I'm sure I left out a lot but again it is very late here (almost 3am). Hope to get tons of replies<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <FONT color=#ff3300>I hope they never stop with the Adventure Packs and Expentions. These give large amounts of content in one swing. I have read the boards on WOW and I know that after over a year and no Expantion ( One planned for next year though ) and only being able to get the odd big patch here and there to add an instance or 2.... thats not content. Sorry, I want a big block something that will take time to go through. I think SOE has done a great job keeping up the content flow thuss far.</FONT></DIV><BR> <HR> </BLOCKQUOTE><BR>

<DIV>I agree. WoW graphics were making me ill but I also don't think it was a better game. Seems like a lot of the things I liked, like the color code chat thing so I dont mix up /g and /gu anymore, have been added to EQ2. I actually like the kill # of any quests in both games. They are easy.</DIV>

<DIV>Well the thing I would like to see change is the development. They completely ignore the issues and spend time making dumb stuff. Example Frostfell. Thanks for the rip off of How the Grinch stole Christmas. Couldnt even have an original quest lol.</DIV>

Thanks for the rip off of How the Grinch stole Christmas. People like that sort of thing, save for the small faction in every game who think that there should never ben any new content released until every single bug is fixed, but that's simply an unreasilistic expectation and that view can be safely ignored.
