View Full Version : Do you guys that play on Test do anything that resembles testing???
Just from my class (Warlock): Cuncussive does not scale, Dark Infestation does not proc at all and apparently any reactive proc is completely buggered! Not to mention what may be happening with mobs.....

Feel free to add your classes issues, maybe we can actually get things fixed..... yea you're right; we won't.

-[Removed for Content]

Edit: Locked for rudeness.

Message Edited by Moorgard on 12-27-2005 11:30 PM

Dear [Removed for Content],

It seems you have quite a problem there with testers and bugs making it through to live due to our inability to 'test' and report bugs.

Here is my suggestion to solve all your problems.

Delete your characters on the live servers. Start over on test, making it your home and show all us testers that play there day in and day out how a 'real' tester does things.

Oh, and dump the loser, she is cheating on you with your best friend.

Sam Flanders aka The Cranky Columnist

Well a guy with 6 posts probably isn't someone who is great at giving feedback from test or anywhere else. Still it's pretty arogant to come here and tell the people doing the testing you refuse to do that they aren't doing a good job. Answer is simple. You want to make this a better game? Make a toon on test and test it yourself. But only do so if you are going post helpful constructive feedback afterward.
"The only man who never makes mistakes is the man who never does anything."
 - (Theodore Roosevelt)

Message Edited by Bloodtooth on 12-20-2005 09:59 PM

Don't blame the testers. The reactive bug was reported within 12 hours of it being patched onto test, and lets see 36 hours before it patched live. I know this as a plain and simple fact seeing as I reported on saturday morning and several others reported later in the weekend as I made everyone I could find test there reactives then do a report on the spell line if it wasn't working.

So to answer your question. Yes, we do test on test. In fact we test way more quickly and efficiently than they can either code or get through their report cache, which ever the case may be.

Believe it or not, theres rarely a bug that escapes our notice, they just don't get them fixed so quick. We wait to see some fixed for as long as a month.

As a side note, ya know what makes me [Removed for Content]? Whiney production players who feel the need to blame the testers who put up with ten times the bugs the whiners from live ever though of encountering. Makes ya wonder why we do it? Oh yeah, so as to not deal with whiney production players while in game.

Question: you are SOE and LU 18 has to be out for christmas

the players on test have found a lot more bugs than you can fix

what to you do ?

a) delay LU for the bugs to be fixed

b) push it out because the customers whine a bit then play on

c) push it out and apologize for the bugs and say you decided that frostfell quest was more important than bugs

now think again before coming here and acusing us of not testing

No. We don't test. We sit around and eat cheetos and compare [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] sizes with the Devs.

People whine that the LU isn't out fast enough.. then they whine when there's bugs in it. It takes a certain kind of player to play on test.. and we should be grateful to those players. If you don't like what they're doing, go test it yourself. But you can't sit back from a Live server and judge them.

My experience from previous testing is you can only do so much if the devs don't listen or fix any of the bugs you find and report. So yelling at the testers only makes them less likely to want to test, making for even more bugs to enter the live updates.

The rudeness of the original poster caught my attention; enough that I finally wanted to figure out how to setup my account so that it would let me reply. I've been playing EQ since the day EQ1 launched and uhmmm, never verified my e-mail...it's acceptable though because I'm just a gnome :smileyindifferent:

You folks on the testing server have a great attitude and sound like a lot of fun; I may just have to transfer since I don't fit in any uber guilds on Permafrost...heh. That is of course, if there is generous sharing of cheetos.

Xamtin (balding, midget wizard extraordinaire)
