The quest starter always dropped off mobs in Feerrott. Now it's just more common.

It is a rare chest drop. I've never seen it, but know people that have gotten it.

I think you are mistaken .. the quest starter never dropped off a mob .. it was very tiny stone that spawned on the ground near a tree in the first section of the Feerrott .. peopel would camp this stone for hours even days ..

since update #18, the quest starter item drops off mobs and no, not from a chest

Hope you're kidding, but in case you aren't...Taken from the notes:" - The rock for the Robe of the Invoker no longer spawns on the ground, but will drop more frequently from creatures."That itself says it dropped off creatures. Awfully rare, given the two characters I leveled from 35 and 36 to 41 in Feerrott.

Bluefish-it was a ground spawn AND a chest drop, now it's only a chest drop, but supposedly slightly more common.

Just because you never got it off a mob doesn't mean it never did. My ROI that I've had since level 40 came from the group of lizards right next to the rock spawn. I remember it cleary because I was only clearing the lizards because I was so bored of staring at the ground for a week. So yes, it always dropped off mobs. Now it's just more common.

The quest starter dropped only from the mobs at the entrance of Feerrott and the nearby lizardmen and not from all the fauna of the place. Dunno if they changed it but I'd stick to the mobs that used to drop the item.

Is it only a chest drop? That would suck somewhat depending on your level...

We have always farmed the purple fattys on the beach in Feer whenever we needed an RoI. Unless you are xping in Feer or farming named there, the beach presents an easy spot to farm for the chest drop.Originally the stone spawned frequently enough that I never heard of someone finding the tattered robe off of a chest drop. After that got changed, reports seemed to be mixed regarding if it dropped more often in chests or if people got it off the stone -- regardless it certainly dropped off of both. Now the stone no longer works and the chest drop is presumably more frequent.

Chest drop. Guildie spent yesterday afternoon killing stuff in Ferrott, at least 5 hours. He was so happy to get the quest starter when it finally dropped.

Yep... its always been a chest drop from the creatures. The rock was a clicky, but from creatures it is from a chest.

I don't see what the big deal is anyway. It's just a silly robe. I never run out of power in a decent group. In a really good group, I'm lucky if my power drops below 90%. At least until the silly ranger aggro's two groups of the epics in Rujark. That was a fun time and left both the templar and my warden drained of power. So we did it again and again pulling two groups. It was fun. =)

I'm going to be parking a low lvl toon in feerrott to group with them so I can green part of the zone and hunt again. I'd really like to add this to my closet of robes if not just for the look.

It's a CHEST drop. If the mobs are grey to you, chest will not drop I think.

You could possibly mentor down and group with someone, though not sure if your level is still too high or not.

Not sure how you'd get it now.

GurgGuardianLord

im aware of that...but what mobs drops it more commonly is what im after? I was able to make the mobs near cazic all green..but the lizards are gray..meaning i killed the mobs near cazic...and no luck D:

Ok, sorry, now I know what you mean.

I don't think anyone has established conclusively which mobs will definately drop it.

I have heard that all mobs in Feerrott yield a chance to drop it, and I have heard that only the beach trash in the beginning of the zone and the lizards close to where the rock used to spawn were the only mobs that drop it. I think mostly I've only heard tales of it dropping of those aforementioned mobs. For your sake I hope I'm wrong.

The only ones I've actually seen drop it are lizardmen and huuptics (all of them in Feerrott, location doesn't matter), but many people claim to have gotten it from other creatures, such as dragonflys.

Might be worth just going to get your Efreeti boots instead, since the FT doesn't stack with the robe and the boots.

Though that quest is time consuming as well.

---

They DO stack, as with any other FT item equipped in any other slot so long as the FT # is different.

---

Also incorrect =) FT of the same type also stacks with FT of the same type. There is debate on whether or not this is intended, and if it will remain this way, but for the moment, for example, FT3 and FT3 stack (both icons appear, and when tested counting regen).
