chat system needs an upgrade

I only used the chat once--- last time after the previous LU EQ2 would crash upon loading. I popped into the channel and had a response and a fix in maybe 30 seconds, tops. I was quite pleased, but your mileage may vary...<div></div>

Why don't you take a leaf out of EQ1's chat room where the limit of ppl per room is alot lower, the rooms are unmoderated the majority of the time and there is also a greater variety and number of rooms. I agree, utter BS that the chat client is sooo archaic, not to mention the lack of information being provided.  I wouldnt expect a blow by blow by the devs of what line of code they are currently updating.... I think all were asking for is a simple indication in the chat client of whether the servers are even up!  I don't particularly enjoy trying to log in repeatedly until finally I'm in... much nicer if I could just look at the client and know when it's ok for me to log in.

This is ridiculous, not even an updated message telling you that servers or down or whatnot.  We ask for MORE information on server status, Sony gives us less.  My guess is that they fired them and hired more Indians.  Or just cut staff but in any case that makes fewer American employees (and less German and French and Japanese).  I enjoy EQ2 but I really hope the folks that make these decisions get cataracts.

I totally agree with this post, I mean the chat has been under mod for WEEKS, umm how is this helping us?  Isn't it suppose to be a CHAT room?  And when the GMs do come they are almost uncompletely useless, I get better answers from players  (same goes with petitions). <div></div>

On a side note DementedGerbil, I think your every 2 minute updates are probably a bit excessive.  Servers come down virtually every day at about 7am pac (10am est) and are down for 30 min to an hour. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Nice way to pad your post count though.</DIV>
