<DIV>old durations 50seconds / 60 seconds</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>new durations</DIV> <DIV>30 seconds / 36 seconds.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>the update notes in 16b state it will be reduced slightly.  50% reduction is not a slight reduction in its duration.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Im dumbfounded why the durations are even being adjusted?  It used to be 36 sec pre revamp for roc.  It was unbreakable and overpowered.  After revamp it finally settled down at 50 seconds duration, but root broke on 2-3 hits.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I just dont get why its having its duration reduced by half?  The spell wasn't overpowered.  This makes the 4th time these roots were adjusted.  How many more will there be?  I'm sure most of the wizards agreed they were just fine the way they were.</DIV>

WOW.  And this Templar has only 6 pieces of Fabled gear, but i can solo groups of ^ green heroics.

I predicted this would happen right after the combat revamp. There is no way we can keep a root with a fixed duration thats longer than IC recast, it allows us to pretty much solo anything thats not red on a good day. Sadly fixed duration roots were a terrible, terrible idea, (as shown in EQ1,) but as they decided to revert from variable duration to fixed duration, you can kiss good bye to any class getting a half decent root duration now. (For what its worth i know Inquizitors got hit by the same nerf this patch, as  another mber of my guild just quit over it.) <div></div>

All you are doing is making wizards waste more power and time to kill a mob and allow more possibilities to get killed.</P> <P>Please at least reduce the cast and recast and it's power consumption.<BR></P>

I play a Warlock, our roots were also shorted but I don't see what the concern is. They last plenty long to re-apply the root if the times running out and 95 percent of the time root is going to break, from nukes/dots, before the end duration anyway.

It depends on your class, namely classes which have enough ranged dps and root can do it. They are certainly not going to change the dps, it is the root which is the issue. An assassin for example certainly cannot solo a ^^^ yellow no matter the skill. Wizards are still by far the best at soloing named in the game, due to roots and namely, ice comet. Since it is instant and not a dot it is only a one point chance to break and in return if it does not break, massive damage has been dealt, not to mention it knockbacks and stuns. It is very high reward for the risk involved in conjunction with roots. And regarding warlocks ae root, it is better because warlocks are more ae based and more dot based.
