<DIV>Please discuss with us why you feel the Necromancer lvl 50 spell Lich needs to be modified?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>there seems to be alot of confusion as to the other effects of this spell such as its life drain effect, will this be reduced as well?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>this is a Major class defining spell and on behalf of all necros could you please bring some clarity to this matter?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regards,</DIV>

I also would like to read about this.  Nerfing a Class defining level 50 spell is HUGE !  50% Seems also very harsh.<div></div>

<P>The certainly tried to sneak this one in. This is CRAP. Necros don't do outragious damage and this is by far one of our key spells. That was a great list of a huge number of fixes for other classes but for necros - a NERF! Shall I mention the large number of spells that DIDNT get fixed? Let's start with Rending Fury - Frenzy, which has the same stats. And how about the Master2 Grisly Stele that is better than an adept3 Grisly Ward.</P> <P>Yet another example of not fixing whats broke but breaking the few things that work.</P> <P>Total crap, SOE. shame on you</P>

I actually think the change may be about right in its total effect (IMO we are about 10% overpowered, and Lich nerf reduces our total dps by about 10%). But I'd like to hear the official explanation.</DIV>

I almost never post on the message boards but when I read that they are going to nerf lich I felt the need to come out and post…I would like to know the reason behind this. If you are going to nerf the damage then increase the amount it heals us or lower the amount of health it eats. Give us a Win / Win here. I think the last time I addressed and issue with Ever Quest was back when John Smedley posted how the Sun and Moon now rise and fall. I asked John why the Necromancers spells weren’t fixed but the moon would now come up at night back in EQ live. He gave me an answer that I could live with so all I am asking don’t let me down again. Give me a good reason as to why this spell should be nerfed by 50%.Thanks.

<DIV>There is no reason to nerf Lich. Even if the hp cost were halved this would be a bad and unecessary change to Necromancers. I don't have time to raid, but usually group with 3-5 friends for a little exp and exploration. Before the wise and welcome combat changes my dps was weak to middling, but at least I could debuff in an impressive manner that greatly enhanced the dps of my Warlok friend. Necros lost the lion's share of our utility but gained dps that made us very good for groups and useful for raids. The harsh nerf to the Necro defining spell of Lich currently on test must not go live if Necros are to have fun and be useful. Please reconsider the unwise and unecessary changes to Lich. I am having fun and enjoying the game more than ever since the combat changes, and do not wish to go back to being broken or gimped. That's no fun. </DIV>

<DIV>I don't bode any ill will towords the conj, but the wiz/warlock lobby has certainly done its job. Kudos to them at pointing out how much utility we have. Yes our heal is so powerful we can actually barely move a take's health bar with it just before the wiz evac's the grp. Oh we were soooo powerful</DIV>

Please oh Please rethink this one , it is going to hurt us too much , we were only just starting to shine as a class, our dots are appalling dps this was our main source of damage please dont nerf it.

Agree completely. If u starting to listen to whiners and nerf necros then go on, nerf other MUCH more overpowered classes like rangers.

<div></div><div></div>Sometimes I don't see the point in nerfing classes. From what I have been reading this nerf is a 10% reduction in a single spell. What is more important... Reducing a single ability by 10% or aggrevating a large number of players? You can't honestly tell me that 10% reduction on one spell is going to make a massive difference to the game balance. All you did was incite the Necromancer population. No one likes being nerfed, regardless of how big the nerf is. Were Necros ruining the game economy with their extra 10% of Lich power? I seriously doubt it. Most of the games I've played, you usually only see a nerf if there is a gross imbalance. Otherwise small changes are usually made after some cooldown time. There is no such thing as perfection. Is it not possible to leave the classes unless they are showing major differences? The only classes which seemed in desperate need of help were Assasins and Guardians (for the record I am a healer). <p>Message Edited by Kingman on <span class=date_text>11-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:34 AM</span>

<P>Err, 50% reduction in a single spell actually. Not sure what that does to your argument Kingman, but thanks for the moral support anyway. ;P</P> <P> </P> <P> I agree with the earlier poster: at least give us an increase heal, or some other utility. Win / win would be nice. At least it'll take the sting out of the nerf-bat. Or maybe they are planning on a 25% decrease but thought that this will get us to see that as a positive thing? <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  (Setting expectations...)</P> <P> </P> <P> Oh, and calling for another class to be nerfed is baaaaad. Go sit in the corner.</P><p>Message Edited by Pheliac on <span class=date_text>11-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>05:38 PM</span>

<DIV>Let's see something...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm a 55 Necromancer. At 54, I needed help to kill grey con named inside the Obelisk of Lost Souls for second door access. These mobs were 11 or 12 levels below me, grey con and worth no XP or treasure, and managed to kill me every time until I got help.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wandering around Maj'Dul, I always see a level 60 Illusionist soloing the level 61 ^^^ Heroic Sha'ir. So out of curiousity, I click on the Illusionist, assuming he's low on power or health...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wrong.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Necros don't need nerfed further. In a group environment, mobs don't stay alive long enough for our DoTs to do their full potential of damage. And our pets...one PBAoE from a mob and our pet is usually dead. Oh..we have pet heals...that heal 1% of the pet's health. If we're lucky.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lich is our primary source of DPS in a group environment, unfortunately. And now our DPS is essentially being halved.</DIV>
