Yeah, I know... reposting, hopping forums, non-test related... all against the rules, all depening on if anyone from SOE actually sees this, of course.

I just read this in the TS forums, and just had to try to let a few more people see it. Sums up, in a fun way, my opinions. So, forgive my tresspass, and to the OP, forgive my hijack, but you really made me laugh, while really hitting the 'heart' of the matter. :smileyvery-happy:

Really, its all about quality of product, reputation and credibility.

Its been 2 months since DOF and crafting is still messed up. Worse, there's no tradeskill writs. But, all things in perspective, when havn't they had tradeskills messed up? The game is now 1 year old, yet it still feels like beta.

Really, its all about two things... Having competant and EMPOWERED devs with genius, experience and creativity and NOT having a philosophy of releasing half finished products because you can "patch it later since it is a (lol) 'evolving' system".

The question to be asked is: Where's my dev? No no, I don't mean the latest one assigned to the project, I mean the ONE who started the project two years ago. One of the problems here is that SOE has "The department of the week" for their devs. Nothing gets finished and newbies have to pick up other people's dropped projects. Of course, how can you have a clue when you didn't design the mess in the first place. Frizznik who fixed things 6 or 8 months ago did a pretty good bandaid job. WHERE THE #$%& IS HE? Or, did he jump ship to go work with Brad McQ on Vanguard?

I'm pretty much done with EQ2. I've been 38'th level for 3 months now. And yes, you can have my stuff. It, like the game, holds no value to me. EQ2 has no soul, no spirit, and doesn't feel like high fantasy. The only positive thing is that everyone on the server speaks English since the Asians are riding a faster cluebus and went to play a real game. Oh yeah, I know... We're the smart ones and those 4.5 million subscribers are all wrong. I keep telling myself that every time I wonder which half complete, poorly implimented MMO SOE has moved its EQ2 developers to.

You know, I bet if Dilbert worked at SOE there'd be enough material to make a couple years of calendars. And finally, please forgive my negativity, but SOE's "New baby" obviously doesn't have the same parents EQ1 did. The game has not lived up to my expectactions in any way.

Lufa Lynx

Message Edited by Daishar on 11-03-2005 11:50 AM
