<DIV> <DIV>Ok, I remeber when I first started playing everquest 2, even with vitality gaining levels was a pretty challenging and long aspect...</DIV> <DIV>I was over at my friends how last night watching him effortlessly get from level 59-60, getting 10% xp in under an hour without vitality by doing patheticly easy repeating quests in the Expansion town... He'd talk to an npc, go into a building and solo blue and green enemies effortlessly, go back get 2.5% xp for completing the quest "which took about 10 minutes" go back, repeat... He said he did this from lvl 57-60, he was able to level cap by doing effortless, easy repeatable quests without even having to step outside the town and this was WITHOUT! vitality!!</DIV> <DIV>What kind of joke is that? My character was level 28 and it was harder for me to gain levels were I currently was even with vitality... SOE really needs to re-amp end game experience because that was absolutly pathetic to watch.</DIV></DIV>

<P>For the Tear's Grifter quest which your friend was doing has a timer on it for about 20 min + and i have a level 56 conj. and when i do one of those quests i only get about 1% for a turn in.</P> <P>Also vit. has nothing to do with quest experience. You will recieve the same amount with or without vit. for a turn in.</P>

<DIV>Ok, there are a few details you are leaving out.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>These are called Tears Grifter missions, and they aren't quite as overpowered as you describe. You can only GET one quest per half hour. You get the quest, enter the instance, complete it, and then talk to the teirs grifter again for your reward. The actual instance can contain anywhere from 4 to 10 solo encounters, depending on which quest the tears grifter gives you. So you get a little experiance just for killing those people. When you complete the quest, you get about 1% experiance (at level 55), some gold, and some faction coins. The Tears Grifter will not give you a second quest until 30 minutes after he gave you the first one.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yes, it is a nice little way to gain some extra solo experiance whenever you happen to visit MajDul, but it is not nearly as trivial as you are making it out to be. Pure experiance grinding is still a much faster an smoother way to gain levels.</DIV>

but the question is, does it really matter if someone wants to power level to the end game or not...it really doesn't, those who power level through the game miss out on all the stuff appropriate at their various levels of advancement...if yer gonna just sit there and do nothing but xp level by level then fine...more power to ya...i personally turn off combat xp every once in a while so i don't hit the end game so quick...guess it just boils down to what you want to do with your character, if someone wants to power level then let them...you can ding 3 or 4 times in your late 20's and early 30's in about half an hour...just buy collection quest items off the broker for all the level 40 and 50 collection quests if you feel the need to power level, i don't think b/c someone decides they're gonna do do repeatable quests over and over again to level really merits anyone looking into anything imo...

<P>But there are 2-3 of these quests, my friend just runs between all of em in a circle to deal with the timer, and at lvl 59 he WAS getting 2% xp each time he completed those quests, and that was a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] easy quest, as easy as a newbie quest, the mobs were only green and solo encounters.</P> <P> </P>

<P>There may be more than one Tears Grifter npc, but they share the same 30 minute timer, so you cant just grab a quest of another one of the, at 54 I am getting about 1.5% per quest, so 3% per hour, can grind that, and earn more money questing out in Pillers of Flames.</P> <P>I cant think of any other easily repeatable quest series in Majdul.</P>

That being said, you have no idea what you are talking about, so until you get a clue and know what is going on I would hope you would pipe down. Better yet, when you get to your 50's come talk to some of us.

Yea at level 54 and 55, I was getting about 1.2% or so for the quest turn in (without vitality, not that quest exp matters). <div></div>

<P>It's faster to level by soloing yard trash than exclusively doing Tears Grifters quests.</P> <P>The quests are just there to add a little flavor, and to alleviate the tedium of grinding.</P>

These quests scale with your level, so he was not soloing green mobs......you need to educate yourself about what youre talking about before you come post next time. <div></div>

I was 1st wiz to 60 on Unrest. 50-60 was effortless for the most part, with as much as they dumb down the game I am surprised they aren't making it easier. I got 8-12% an hour throughout. Personally I would have liked to seen it harder but they aren't really catering to people that like a challenge anymore.

<DIV>They arent catering to people who want a challenge...just look at the raid mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The people who grind day by day wanting a challenge are going to have a challenge with patience waiting for the rest of the crowd, the majority, who likes to take thier time. For myself i was gungo ho about leveling and was getting 2-3 levels a week. It burned me out very quickly and now that i see they are adding more benefits to exp. it is all the better. Thus im going to take my time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But you being the first wizzy to 60 on your server, im sure u are in a high end raiding guild who is experimenting with the new instances, and with the new update that came out today they made the drops even better. But anyways im sure you know and see the challenge in the new raids and contested.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also they making exp better, just decreased the wait time you must wait before the rest of ur guildees reach 60, i would be happy :smileyvery-happy:!!!</DIV>

<DIV>The timer is 30 minutes from getting the quest. If you take 30 minutes you will be able to immediately get another.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have seen everything from a yellow ^ to green double downs. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just going in doesn't guaranteee completion. The other day it took me 5 times to get the guy to talk when i had to smack, hit, slap, punt, poke etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>They are nice for making some extra coin and for getting insignia tokens to work on faction but for exp it is FAR from a fast way to level.</DIV>

<P>They are a pretty good way to level.</P> <P>Grab one right before you go to sleep the night before, and then when you start your session the next day you can do 2 back-to-back.  If you get lucky, you can get ones where you dont have to actually kill anything.  Takes about 3 minutes to get 2.5% xp or so, or if you get the harder ones, might take about 6 minutes.  A pretty good start on your day <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>Also you can go grab afterlife for ghouls and have that completed as well for turn in for another 1%.  That one takes about 10 minutes extra though (providing you do these as part of a normal routine).  Still better than grinding.</P>

You can only do the quest once every 30 mins. You get about 1% exp from killing mobs inside the house and 1.5% exp quest reward. So in one hour, you can get about 5% exp. I dont think 20 hours a level is overpowered. I can easily get more than 10% exp an hour in a good group killing giants in PoF. Especially in test server with bonus exp, you can get over 15% an hour there.

The OP claims this guy was picking up repeatable quests in 3 different areas in Maj'Dul.  He also didn't mention Tears Grifters at all, we are all just assuming that is what he means.  If there are other easily repeatable quests in Maj'dul, I want to know about them! =P <div></div>

There are 3 repeatable quests in Maj'dul with the tears quests being potentially the hardest.  You can do all 3 in just over 30 mins.  Thats quite a bit of exp an hour.  If you want to hit 60 quick soloing it's the way to go.  It makes it too easy IMO, but then again I have taken advantage of it so I can't say too much.  It also favours high dps types, I'm not sure a healer could do all 3 in the same time for example.  My 51 guard alt will take a much more leisurely route to 60. <div></div>

<div></div>S6 where are these other 2 repeatables? I also only know about the tears grifters and would love something to do in the 20ish minute downtime I get between them. (Besides the exesively boreing an totally pointless harvesting I do in SS now as my luckthere sucks ;P) <div></div><p>Message Edited by Yargnit on <span class=date_text>11-03-2005</span> <span class=time_text>07:57 AM</span>
