About the chin slider not doing anything... I dont think the SOGA models had this option to begin with, they are very limited in what you can change on them. I'm noticing the same thing on other models that I've mesed with.

I took a few screenshots of some of the problems. The character is a newly-made one specifically because I wanted to see the way my toon on live would look, and my regular toon on Test has different hair and facial settings.

Salmastryon wrote:
-female models freeze in place when you stop moving instead of comeing to a resting position.

Salmastryon wrote:
-when you switch to female model they initially are in a position with their arms bent at a right angle at the elbow.

Salmastryon wrote:
-In general, the armor and clothes are too big for the SOGA models.
Worse offenders: Dwarven Female, Barbarian female, High Elf Male

Look at the way the skirt poofs out over the teeny tiny legs:

In addition: the shoulders are too small, which in turn make breasts look huge:

Yuck.

Is that a wood elf female? Looks ike they didnt put much time at all into anything but the face. The legs are bowed out and pointing in different directions, the shoulders are too small compared to the rest of the body, and whats with the Dolly Parton look?

One reason the model looks like that most likely has to do with the issues listed.

When you enter the game and enable the soga models you are now looking at your character that was modified by the old system. You cannot change an existing character at this time so you go to make a new one. The male models work fine... however, almost all the female models cannot be seen once you go back to "creation".

I think there was 4 that could still be viewed.

Even the character you had in game (if female) will not even appear if you log back in. You have to as noted deselect then reselect that model as soga enabled. When you go back to creation almost all the females just show a blank space and the camera goes through the floor of the creation area.

So until the model in the pics can be seen and modified to the soga options its not going to look like you'd want it to. The male models seem to not have this problem and it was about 4 females that are ok maybe less.

Eww.. that toon looks at though she's severely malnourished... except for the fact that she shouldn't have a set of "Pamela Anderson" breasts if the malnutrition is that severe.

*wishes that SoE would allow players to adjust the size of female characters bustlines like City of Heroes does, so just once I could play a female character that didn't look like she'd had silicone implants*

Graphical Issue * Dark Elf, Half Elf, and Halfling male models have an issue with outstretched arms when standing still. The arms are raised from their sides at an unusal 30 degree or so angle instead of being closer to the body as would naturally be. Half Elf model but similar with dark elf and halfling

More updates edited in today. While I'm glad they fixed that mood bug, I've noticed they haven't fixed the problem with the armor yet. My barb is still running around with a barrel for a tunic and the high elf male NPCs are still swimming in their formal tunics. Not to mention the broken neck look. *shudders* Anyrate, I'm concerned about the reports of trouble with the one time only soga model choice for existing characters. If people could give me more details of any problems they had?

Another that I noticed: There is no way to change the colors of erudite markings... (Randomize All before customizing anything else is a workaround) Also, I would say that it's nearly impossible to get a unique look with certain models. High elf for example. The sliders simply do not offer enough range to make a dramatic enough difference in character creation. If at all possible, I would prefer that the sliders go slightly into the "unrealistic/ugly" range so that we might be able to make characters that are intentionally ugly in one way or another... If I wanted to make a half-elf with a huge nose.... (that he got from his ugly human mother) I think I should be able to. The SOGA bodies are better than the standard, so I prefer using them, I even like the Asian feel for the elven races. I just dont want my guys nose/eyes/cheeks to look exaclty like every other member of his race.

half elf males have an issue with their lips, they look a bit odd and the proportions are off.

I wont mention the gunslinger pose for the males, thats been mentioned enough already *chuckles*

the female's proportions are way off.... please do something, give them a cookie for the love of god.

overall I like the soga models for the male characters but the female characters defnintly need work. I plan on enabling all of the male models except ogres, but the female models I will have to leave with the origionals...either that or spend all my time feeding every female I see in the game for fear of them fainting from starvation during a hunt. also ...gnomes need the sunglasses ~!~

the ideal solution would be to place the soga heads on the origional bodies, that would make a great many people happy. the hair and facial structures wtih few exceptions are a grand improvement over the origional models, unfortunaly the bodies leave something to be desired...so give the programmers a bit of clue and some scissors and paste the soga heads on the origional bodies :smileyhappy: either that or add a slider so you can make the females a more realistic weight, similar to whats available in SWG.

thank you for your time, please keep in mind this is only my opinion.

Bloodeyes

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GIVE THE WOMEN OF EQ 2 A COOKIE !

- Half elf females: under the nose, the tissue between the two nostrils has a dark stripe running up it, as if it were scarred up the middle and towards the left nostril. I tried changing the nose to different settings to see if it had anything to do with width, length etc but seems pretty consistent for the HE nose. - I tried a few different female models (barb, DE, half elf, wood elf) and there's little to no change in expression when changing the turn of the lips up/down

Also noticed that when playing around with the half elf female haircolor, the model could not seem to decide which hair color was actually supposed to be the more predominant one, the main or secondary color.

so..if you set up a SOGA appearence to your character on the log in screen...is this now what you character will look like forever..or is this an ingame option to enable SOGA and if you dont enable it ingame..then you still appear like your original toon?

I didn't read through most of this so sorry if these are already posted. I play a half elf male. When I went to change my haircolor, it didn't work right. I put black as the base color and it looked purple. I finally clicked around enough to get it to go black. Then when I set the highlights to white, it changed my base color to white. I also noticed that when I selected to keep my original hair (the braid), it doesn't show properly. I don't have a long braid down my back like on old models. Instead it just looks like I have hair that is cut right above my shoulders.

The mood bug is not fixed. At least not on wood elf females. I have one and with old models I always have her /mood happy.

Turned on SOGA just to see what she looked like with, and ECK! All kinds of strange facial deformaties after a round or two of the 'happy' animation playing. Much like the one posted here with the half elf male, but slightly less pronounced.

This is not a character appearance problem, but another problem that is only evident when SOGA models are turned on...

We went to Nek castle yesterday to help my friend finish off 3 heritage quests... We zone in and head over to the chapel to begin the the quest to get the doors unlocked so we could get into the towers with the sister's rooms...

So, we run to the chapel and kills the spawn and the named guy, which is suposed to spawn Alexia... Hmm, ok, so Alexia didn't spawn.... We started wondering if they changed something about Nek Castle so lev 51+ couldn't do it... So we zone out and mentor to the lowest person (40), we zone back in, fighting our way this time and we get back to the chapel... Kill everything and Alexia still doesn't spawn.... We tried this 5 times before giving up....

Later that day, someone in our guild sent a tell saying that Alexia had spawned for him... So, me and my friend head back over to Nek Castle, and join up with our guildie... Since we could not enter the same instanced as him, he zoned out and we all went in together...

We get back to the Chapel and clear everything once again... My friend and I were once again disapointed that Alexia had not spawned... Our guildie on the other had was not so disapointed as he saw her just fine, and hailed her to start the quest...

Ok, so we get up to the towers where the sisters are... Both of them are following me around as I have done this more times than I care to remember and could do it while sleeping... So, we start running around to get the sisters... But, no matter what we could not find any of the sisters... This was driving me crazy...

We run down the rampart that cuts across wher ethe one sister is suposed to be, when I noticed my character get pushed to the side like I ran into something... So, I stopped and thought about it a sec... I went and turned SOGA models off, and what do you know, the sister is standing right in front of me...

The problem was that SOGA models prevented us from seeing Alexia and the sisters... I bet my guildie was wondering why I kept running past them, since he did not have SOGA turned on the whole time, where me and my freind did....

Once we turned of SOGA models, everything went smoothly and we finished up the 3 heritage quests in no time...

It's not that SOGA prevents you from seeing all the ghosts, but it definatly effected Alexia and the sisters.... I'm just wondering how many other things I have not been able to see because of the SOGA models being turned on...

Gwern - 60 Assassin / Parody - 51 Troubador

I had a guildie with the same problem in Nek Caste. Good to know that i can tell him how to see them now. Bad that this causes a problem. I've added this to the problem list. You might want to post this to also post this to the quest or zone forums if someone hasn't beat you to it. Joosul can you give me more details on how the problem happened? Can you reproduce it? On Erudite markings you need to change the eye color to change the erudites glyph color. Hair base and hair highlight are mislabeled on the Soga creation screen. That isn't the function those two color choices serve anymore. Hair color is created by blending those two colors together.

Message Edited by Salmastryon on 11-13-2005 11:21 AM

I am having problems of changes not sticking once I log into the game. For instance, I set my lips to downturn max, but when I log in, my lips are upturn max.

My clothes don't retain the colour I pick either, keeps going back to the default colour of my original model.

There are probably a few other things, but these two are the most noticeable. Now my avatar is stuck with a stupid permanent smile which I can't get rid of. :smileysad:

Can't remember the name but the last name mob in the Sacturium (sorry at work can't look it up) off of Sinking Sands, Is invisable with Soga Models. I do not think he was a ghost. Try fighting him when you can't see him.. lots of fun =P
