View Full Version : HQ Changes in LU16a: Lost Legend of Lavastorm - Crown of King Tranix - Tyrock Cleaver

I have completed all the other "old world" heritage quests, so was disappointed that the update notes did not mention that this HQ received any attention. I am up to the point were I need to obtain a Bouldering Heart that drops from the Bouldering Guards that spawn with Tyrock. I have yet to see Tyrock up ever (rumour of a 48 hour respawn) and I believe that when he does I need to kill the guards and not Tyrock to ensue that there is a chance that the guards will respawn. It would be nice if this was made a little easier. <p></p>

I agree. The spawn time on Tyrock is ridiculous. It makes it even worse because of the place in Lavastorm that he spawns (i.e. the lava fields or "add central"). Several things could happen here: add placehodlers, reduce his spawn time or make it so the bouldering heart drops off a different mob.<p>Message Edited by Degron on <span class=date_text>10-27-2005</span> <span class=time_text>07:30 AM</span>

<P>The Crown of King Tranix change will be in part b. There will be more boulderings to attempt to get a heart from instead of just the ones that spawn in Tyrok's encounter.</P>

Let me echo Elisse's thanks for these changes. Having to camp HQ mobs for an hour or more is by far the thing I have loathed the most about the EQ2 experience so far. Another one that didn't make the list but that I'm praying will be part of part B is the Swine Lord for the Mask HQ in Nek Castle. Was just there last night with some guildees. Took just under 3 hours. 3 HOURS!!! For a middle-of-the-quest requirement and an HQ item that is relatively undesirable aside from the status points. Its experiences like that that make me question my desire to play the game. Or atleast be part of a guild - which is a bad feeling to have when you lead one as I do <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Fix this quest and all like it and I will be one happy EQ2 player. <p></p>

<P>Treemos, the trick to the swinelord is to get him up without killing any of the sisters. Assuming everyone has access, just enter, see if swine lord is up, and if not, zone out and back in. Repeat until he's up. Instead of killing and waiting for respawn, you're only delay is the time it takes you to zone twice (out and back in). </P> <P>You're getting a new spawn every 30 seconds instead of every 10 minutes. This works for Billy in both near zone spawn areas as well. </P> <P> </P> <P> </P> <P></P>

Hey, great idea. I'll have to try that. Thanks. Though I doubt that was the gameplay mechanic SOE had in mind when they designed the quest. Its still something that should be changed. <p></p>
