Trying to release the Butler's spirit in the first room. The skeleton can be interacted with behind the spirit and holds a piece of paper that you need to locate where it goes, but nothing else in the room can be interacted with. <div></div>

The targetable area for many of the clues is miniscule.

I wouldn't mind a little clue as to what i'm looking for when trying to get into the children's room. I think I have just about checked anywhere in the first room. At first I thought something may have been in the vases or a way to move one of the bookcases. No luck so far though. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

This morning before going to work I released the butler's spirit.  I can't get to any other room.  A spider web blocks the doorway into another room on the first floor.  A blue cube of some sort blocks the stairway.  I've tried climbing the railing to get past the blue thing but that didn't work.  I was pressed for time so I had to give up.  I'll look for the rat tracks tonight. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was also quite surprised at the trick-or-treat high scores.  Holy cow!  All I could get was 37-38 in two attempts.  How in the heck did those top 10 players get 115+???  How did they do it?</DIV>

For those having troubles there is a bug in the haunted mansion at the moment. Some people are not seeing the boards that are in the doorway of the first room. After freeing the butler you should be able to break some boards that block the doorway. Some people just see some cobwebs in the doorway with no boards. <div></div>

<P>Here's a little bit of information that may help the developers solve this problem.  I have two computers, one sees the boards, and one doesn't.  The one that can see the boards has an nVidia Ti 4600 AGP 4x video card.  The one that doesn't see the boards has an nVidia 6600 GT AGP 8x video card.  I don't know if the motherboard makes any difference so I didn't make note of their chipsets.  </P> <P>What video cards do all of you have in your computers and can you see the boards or not???</P> <P>Oh!  I forgot to mention that graphic settings have no effect on the computer that can't see the boards.  I have it in extreme quality and still don't see the boards.</P><p>Message Edited by Aljola on <span class=date_text>10-21-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:02 PM</span>

<DIV>Hmm, if the servers went down early this morning to fix the problem, it still didn't help my nVidia 6600 GT system see the boards.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I searched the live forums and found a solution to the invisible boards issue.  Delete the file named:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>    live_haunted_mansion_sg.vpk</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>in the folder:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>    everquest IIpaks</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The launcher will reload the missing file and the boards should be visible again.  Enjoy!  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Don't forget to look on top of the bookcases for a nice item.</DIV>

Hi there, I was encountering the same problem, the boards are fully hidden from me in the haunted mansion...Sadly, deleting the file mentioned above didn't solve the problem for me... Someone noted that the physics for the movable boards were a splitpaw thing, so I even purchased that expansion! Shame it didn't help. Could someone please tell me what else I can do about this? I would like to be able to see what's beyond the first room of the haunted mansion. :p Gratch, lvl33 Swashbuckler, Runnyeye <div></div>

<P>Hi Binsky, I really don't know what to tell you.  I deleted that file and the boards were visible after I logged back into the game!</P> <P>I can tell you one thing.  I do not have any expansions or adventure packs.  I'm not high enough in level to make use of them yet.  But I do have all of the files available to me in the basic EQ2 game.  To check if you have them too, log into the launcher.  You should see a set of buttons in a vertical stack under the PLAY or UPDATING button.  One of them takes you to a window that shows which files you can download.  By default some files are not downloaded such as in-combat voices.  I chose to download all files immediately.  It took about 3-4 hours to download with broadband so I let it go overnight while I was sleeping.  I did this before the file delete and I didn't see any boards.  I don'f these files make any difference, I don't know.  I'm only mentioning them for completeness.</P> <DIV>There may be more to this bug than meets the eye.  Make certain that you have the latest drivers for your video card and the latest DirectX.</DIV>
