The reason I suggest a second test server is I know it would not be fair to the folks on test now to let us put our high level toons on their server. But I do think you may get more feedback if you had a higher pool to draw from.

There are lots. Many people have more than one. (I can think of four guildies right now whose alts are over 45, and whose mains are all over 50.) There are high-level raids several times per week, and plenty of people have cleared 50 and are barrelling towards 60. The thing is just people, in general. People don't seem to want to put any effort into Test, and then lambast the couple of hundred people who are loyal to it whenever SOE misses something in an update.

I see... just seemed so many items were slipping past test and into live that I thought it must be a shortage of people on test.

Still a second server that let people copy over would most likely generate more feedback don't ya think?

No I don't think it would be better. What would probably happen is that people would copy characters over and use that as a risk free way to test out some strategy.

How about this: Allow a /buff command for each teir (ie. /buff 10, /buff 20 and ect..) that /buff tooned would then only have limit life span, say 2 weeks or so. That toon would then be removed. That way if you wanted come in and test something you could. The /buff wouldn't include any equipment or coins. You still would have to work at equiping your toon.

Ohh or better yet, how bout SOE moving on the bugs reported, feedback given, and actually listen to thier testers.

If yer wondering why things are "slipping" by test, you need to look at the people implementing the things on live.

Things that are broke are experienced, reported, and /bugged ... just they go to live anyway and are fixed with Hotfixes (untested patches) which in turn break other things.

Ya, I think before anything else, devs should try to listen what Test players are saying, read /feedback and /bug. IE, I have found a broken quest, /bug report send 4 weeks ago, still broken, and now the same quest is broken on Live. That's typicall of this attitude.

Actually, it makes perfect sense. The primary purpose of the Test server is to make sure that the new build of the program doesn't crash the server when more than ten (or some other arbitrary number of) players are online simultaneously.

And the Test server serves that purpose just fine.

If the devs get useful feedback, they probably consider that a bonus.

As a result, the test feedback comes from a non-representative group of people who do. If they want data which is truly representative of the player population as a whole they should absolutely provide some means for people to obtain higher level toons on test, be it by buffing up or by copying characters over.
