I noticed there was a patch today (7th) when I logged on. THis is why I ask. I was playing the gambling game last night on Faydark server and the jackpot was 41 plat. I logged on today to see if anyone hit it yet and if not, what it could be up to. I open the book and see the same numbers still being played, there haven't been any winners but the jackpot only 18 plat. Why is this? Is this supposed to happen or no? I would find it kind of disturbing if sony is just using this to suck money back out of the community.

It's ment to be a moneysink, the less money that there is floating around the lower prices will be, and the game is taking out an ASSLOAD. over 100p has been sunk into that goblin on CB easy.

It would still be a money sink, only a portion of ticket proceeds goes to the jackpot. I think they should leave the jackpot on reset. Imagine winning 350pp or such one day.

Exactly. That's what I was getting at. I know it's a money sink and I know it's meant to pull a lot of money back out of the community. Eq1 did it too. But I think it a little unfair that the jackpot gets reset after a patch. They don't have to reset it to get it to still suck a boatload of cash out of the community. If they continue to do that, more people will notice how unfair that is and soon their little plan won't be working as well as they hoped since people will stop playing. I never intended to put a lot of money into it. Tried it for a few mins before I logged off. But now I will never do it again. Not even 1 pull.

Exactly right. Flat out stealing the coin from the jackpot is ridiculous. I won't be playing. It was clearly stated the jackpot would continue to grow until someone won it and then at that point it would be reset.

You know what is slightly funny, the game is designed to pull money out from the players because supposedly there is too much in the game...

Yet anyone who has serious money in this game is not playing the lottery. Its the same basic principal for life, the lottery isn't funded by Bill Gates, it is funded by the working man, hoping to improve his monetary position in life by chance.

Which sort of makes you think, they are trying to pull money out of players who "need" the money, while at the same time the rich aren't wasting money on a chance, when their assured thing (whatever that might be) is making them wealthy.

At least in life, funds from lotteries are used to help the government pay for certain things. What are you using the "money" for SoE? (its a stupid rhetorical question I know).

Way to further polarize the economy, maybe you guys should hire an economist.

Just my thoughts, a pleasant day to all.

Can't you people see why it has to be reset? Most servers are spending 30-40 plat per day to try and win it. The odds are 1 in 1,700,000 which means, mathematically ~1,700 platinum would have to be spend to win it. In other words, some servers may go weeks without anyone hitting jackpot, and by the time that happens, it would've likely been a 1000+ plat jackpot; you really think it would be a good idea to dump that much cash onto ONE character? Talk about unbalancing the economy, after that happened that one guy could buy out every single item on the broker if he wanted. It has to be reset or it would totally foul things up.. and yes, that means it is a money sink, but people will continue to throw money into it just because of that 1:1,700,000 propsect of turning 10s into 30-50p, just like people fund the RL lotteries with virtually no chance of winning.

Lotteries are stupid anyway. It's a fool's game.
