<DIV>Instead of grading spells by level you received them, why not con them based on what level you have the spell at.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Grey = Ineffective (When you are at the level where you should have the replacement)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Apprentice 1/2 = Green</DIV> <DIV>Apprentice 3/4= Blue</DIV> <DIV>Adept 1= White</DIV> <DIV>Adept 2/3 = Yellow</DIV> <DIV>Master 1-3 = Orange</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Red = Cannot Use Yet</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This would allow you firstly to see which spells are more likely to hit the mobs you are facing, since Master hits higher levels such as 6 levels above much more often that Apprentice spells.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This would also make it easy to see which spells you need to upgrade, as at the moment there has been too many times where I've missed the fact one of my spells is STILL at apprentice one as all CAs are currently white.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just my 2 cents, but I'd really like to see the spell system done this way, because at the moment, the con system is being wasted.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Uh, that's why they list the upgrade status after the name on tooltips. The level of a spell matters more then the upgrade status though, so that is much more important to know at a glance. <div></div>

<DIV>Well my point is to change the colour of spells to provide us with more information than at the moment, being all white is just a waste. <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>I can't see any reason not to do this - good idea.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

But they're not all white. They are grey, white, or red. Spell LEVEL is more important them spell QUALITY. A level 30 app1 is more powerful then a level 15 master1. Therefore, it is better to see that the master is grey and the app is white, as the newer spell will be better. If the low-level spell conned orange, you would think it was better then the blue higher level spell, which is not true. <div></div>

personally I miss having the spells, weapons, armor...etc con blue green orange when I am trying to buy them on the broker. I don't know why they took that out of the game <div></div>

Because they no longer scale. It is either usable or it isn't. You won't get more mitigation later on from orange armor, or more damage later from an orange spell. The values are static. As such, there would be NO meaning to orange/yellow/etc. <div></div>

I know it doesn't scale but if I am looking for equipment on a broker I would like to be able to search for gear that is orange (meant for a higher level) and not have to deal with all the other garbage that shows up now when I am buying items. Its a pain in the but that I would rather not have. I don't care if it doesn't scale. Also when looking for spells I would like to see the colors as well. I woul dprefer to look for the orange spells to upgrade first and not have to sift and bring up my spellbook to remember when or where each and every spell freakin fits in. Its a pain now going to the broker... (lets not even bring up trying to buy food or drink from the vendor) I don't need it back on my hotbar but it would be so much easier if the broker were returned to the way it was. <div></div>

<div></div>xandez, while there may be a few bugged exceptions, it is their stated intention that the app1 of a new skill should be BETTER then a master of the older version. This is indeed the case with all of my spells as a Conjuror. I had an old master2 of a skill, but the upgraded app2 (since it was 50+ and couldnt get app1) was still better. Therefore, conning spells by upgrade level is a BAD idea. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Magus` on <span class=date_text>10-16-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:36 PM</span>

Yesh, i kinda agree that tha current system is ok. Seems that buffs/debuffs however are not working the same way as eg. dmg spells. Which is fine, since they would be very difficult to balance along the line if they would keep growing like dmg spells (app1 > prev. version adept1 (or even masters)) ++Xan <div></div>
