<DIV>this seemed the best place for this thread :</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm not one that posts here a lot - I mostly read the boards for helpful info to increase my game experience. I keep reading thread after thread of dissatisfied, angry, frustrated players, and though I'm resisting the urge to vent about all thats wrong, broken, unfixed, etc.. with this game, I offer a few thoughts in the spirit of trying to be constructive...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. this game was in NO WAY ready for release - and still isn't - I wish SOMEONE at SOE would just come out and say it...</DIV> <DIV>2. Trying to fix this game "on the go" is like trying to drive your car while the mechanic is still working on it - its simply not not working...</DIV> <DIV>3. SOE, your reputation, your publics perception of you - is NOT good, and it needs your attention - in a BIG way - you made your name being "groundbreaking" - and its time you did something no one would expect :</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Shut the game down for a few months, except for test servers - cease all billing till the game is "driveable" and then restart it clean - offer your subscribers a deal on a renewed subscription - and drive this machine off the lot at 100MPH.... Be groundbreaking - admit your errors publicly, fix them - and THEN strut your stuff for all the world to see.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>just my 2 coppers</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Unfortunately, from reading these boards, one may start to think the majority of the EverQuest II population is unhappy with this game. This is simply a case of a minority of the players coming to the boards to post complaints about how the game is unfinished, how it's unplayable, etc. The rest of the community and the majority, I may add, don't come to these boards to complain because they are having FUN playing this game.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Does this game have issues? Yes. I beg you to find ANY MMORPG that doesn't have their own separate issues. Do I have things I wish were different? Of course. However, that doesn't take away from this game as a whole. Despite what some of you say, this game does have wonderful technical support. They are constantly making updates and patching content in order to make the game fun and exciting for the community.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Here is a famous quote that applies directly to this game:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <P><SPAN><EM><FONT size=5>"You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time"</FONT></EM> - Abraham Lincoln</SPAN></P></DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV> <DIV> <P>Well I am getting use to the changes to my Guardian. Am I happy? no but again getting use to it. </P> <P>I dont see how folks can say the "Majority" like/dislike the chagnes.. I certainly have not seen a poll that all paying customers have replied to and the results posted..  I say it's 50/50 just based on reading several forums here.. </P> <P>My complaint is the way LU 13 came about. </P> <P>I agree with the OP on the fact that EQ2 was released way too early. I have seen Beta testers say the exact same thing. </P> <P>Moorgard posted that they made a mistake with the fighters (Guards being the #1 choice for tanks). Yes,  they screwed up.. But the primary screw up occurred Nov 04. The game should have been released much later. All this crap (Server stability also) should have been inplace PRIOR to release. But scooping up potential WoW customers was WAY more important than releasing the game the way they originally intended.  LU 13 was a direct result of that wonderful [Removed for Content] decision by the SoE management made back prior to EQ2 initial release. "Get the game out now and get as many potential WoW customers as we can.. THEN "Fix" it as we go. </P> <P>Well they "fixed" it.. Sept 13th.. and to throw those 9/7 changes on test a week before going live.. OMG.. yea that was classic.  </P> <P>This LU was a Major change to game mechanics and should NOT have been implemented as it was.. When we are told we have to "Relearn" the characters we rolled months ago, when the Mobs are now 10 lvl aggro vice 5 and most replaced with ^ ^ ^,  When I lose 1K HP, 50% AV and 400 Mit, when I lose my buffstacking, when I  lose 50% of my taunts, When I can no longer Duo/finish quests that me and my wife use to be able to do, When the mobs hit harder and faster, that is a MAJOR change.. not something from your typical LU.. That is essentially a new game. </P> <P>No where did I read in the Soe documentation (when I was researching for the best raid/mitigation/defensive tank to roll) did I see any mention that I would have to "relearn" the character (that I was perfectly happy playing) months down the road. No Where!!!</P> <P>SoE should have chosen a better course to implement EQ3. They had no problem standing up Station Exchange Servers.. They obviously beefed up their support staff to support that effort. </P> <P>They should have used that same concept and stood up "Classic Servers" that retain the pre LU 13 EQ2 and kept the LU13 on the other servers.. That way we have a choice.. And dont give me that crap about how hard it is to support "2" games.. How long have they been working on this revamp? They could not have planned early on to hire folks to support this.. Of course they could have.. but this route was easier though. </P> <P>Now we are forced to "relearn" our "New" characters. </P> <P>I know alot of folks would disagree with that concept but.. to me, to implement such drastic changes in a LU is insane. It's a whole new game.. same basic look/feel but new game mechanics. </P> <P>I did not play SWG but I hear they did the same thing there. It seems painfully obvious that SoE has chosen this path as their way of evolving EQ2.. It's just [Removed for Content] sad. Cant wait to see revamp #2 or 3 or 4.. It's gonna happen.. we all know it,  it's just a matter of time..  </P></DIV></DIV>
