Now that the revamp has been live for a time I have a serious question for MG & the Dev's. When the game came out there was a write up of what each class could and could not do. What their role in the life of Norath was. Now things have changed. What I would like to know is this.

What are the roles of the different classes in a group setting now?

For example, what is the role a Guardian plays in a group?

What is the role a summoner plays in a group?

What is the role a Warden plays in a group?

You understand my question? We used to know what the roles of the different classes were but they have all been changed and now we need to restructure our way of playing. Ok that's fine but if we could get a write up from the Dev's perspective of what they have in mind for each Archtype that would help a lot. Don't take this wrong please but we are not mind readers (at least I'm not. I failed that class in high school) We don't know what your ideas are for the classes we only can muddle through and guess. For instance. If you were to tell us that the role an Enchanter plays in a group is to be the main DPS (I know it;'s not just an example) then we know how to structure our game play of that class since it is different than it was pre LU13.

Part 2 of this post, again please don't take offense

I know there will be many that want to post to this thread with griefs of how their class was nurfed but please don't. I really don't want to hear about speculation I would like to hear from MG or a Dev what their plan for the classes in a group setting are. Thank you in advance

edited for grammer

Message Edited by LordDragone on 09-29-2005 10:05 AM

Magus, please refer to the second part of the above post
I didn't whine, and I didn't post speculation. You can't just expect a dev reply to all posts. I posted the facts. Fighters tank, priests heal, the rest do the same as before. The general roles DID NOT change.

Lord Dragone,

The class rolls have not changed. What class do you think has changed from what the primary roll was designed as?

As Magus put so elegantly:

Fighters Tank

Priests Heal

Scouts DPS / Utility

Mage DPS / Utility

From everything posted so far the roles HAVE changed. By your statement then they should do away with all but 4 classes, straight fighter, straight Mage, straight Cleric and straight thief class like D&D. Contrairy to your one line posts Magus thing have changed for the individual roles. MG even said so himself. All I am asking is clarification on the the Dev's vision for each class is so I cna adjust my playing accordinglyand if you can't provide accurate information then please do not post.

archtype level roles have not changed

class level roles haven't changed much

subclass level roles. now this is where theres some change. What would be useful here is just more specific class descriptions. doing a subclass quest for say, bards... you really have no idea what the difference is between dirge and troub other than one is happy and the other is [Removed for Content]

Specific information... Depends on how specific, I do not want SOE telling me how I must play my class. I like figuring that out on my own. General information about skills used would be fine for me.

Message Edited by Chogar on 10-02-2005 12:30 AM

I agree, I don't want SOE telling me how to play my character. All I am asking is what their vision for each class is. Just a little better clarification than is out there right now, that's all
