At least you'll only have to cast insight/clarity/etc on six people now.

Well, not knowing what is in store for the chanters after revamp.....the chanter in our guild has my highest respect for taking on a class that is basically utility, gimped in most cases...... and of the utmost importance to us during any raid. /deepbow chanters

I feel for every class that is now wondering "what am I good for now?" I know that by the time I hit lvl 50 with my Monk, I had finally given in to the fact that Monks are better at dps then they are tanking by a long shot. (Heck even my Swashy friend had better base avoidance and mitigation then I did when we were both self buffed) Sooooo I spent my gold and time working towards equiping my monk with DPS gear.

Now after I finally have a pretty good DPS set up, it's all gonna change. Am I upset over this, nah.....after all, when I created the Monk, I was led to believe by everything SOE's literature and NPC's had to say that monks were the best avoidance tanks in the game. (Loved having Fencer a.k.a. avoidance tanks doing the tanking for me in SWG) So basically what I'm getting is what I originally set out to be.

This revamp is just a way to get us all to rethink strategy, take some of the repetition out of EQ2 for a while.....while we learn our class all over again.

I'd like to see everyone quit going ME ME ME ME......and start thinking US US US US, because when it comes right down to it, if you want the best this game has to offer, and the most challenge, your going to have to start thinking about how you contribute to the guild, raid party or group.....not just being the UBER class in the game.

If we all didn't have a purpose in this game.....I wouldn't see our guild leader swapping players around so much prior to a raid as they talk strategy.

I believe that what vcjester mentions is exactly part of the problem. Not everyone wants a game that is about US, US, US. Not everyone want to go on those huge raids all the time. Sony advertised the game as being playable by soloist, small groups, as well as having content for groups and raids. Currently, there is a viable solo/duo gameplay in EQ2 and it is fun. I mostly solo or duo with my wife and we've had a great deal of fun that way. I've been playing since mid-beta and these combat changes are turning the game into Everquest 2.5 which is a completely different game than Everquest 2. It is now centered around those hardcore gamers and raiders and those of us who enjoy a casual game are taking the hit. I wager that most casual gamers will end up canceling their accounts over these changes since they will find their ability to solo severely diminished. Maybe they should launch these changes on seperate servers and give you an option of which server to play on. If you want raid content constantly, then play on the "raid" server with the combat revisions. If you are looking for more solo/duo content then you can play on an original server without the combat changes. Sony, please don't leave an entire group of us players out in the cold.
