"Fighter and Priest changes are still in progress. Effects on some spells and arts will be adjusted further." Am I the only one who read this? I'm as happy to jump on the bandwagon and run SOE out of town on a rail as the next guy (prolly more), but some of this fighter/priest complaining is a bit premature. Let's prove to SOE that we know what we are talking about as far as class changes go by first proving we have the ability to read ... my 2c (please one-star me, my rating is up to like 2.6 ...)

djhbeek - I hear what you are saying, but if we don't let our concerns be known now before it is too late to do anything about it then we really will be SOL.... Wilderbeast

I didn't mean to say that he was targeting anyone. I understand that he is not, and I've read the messages that you are referring to, but I really do want to talk about the fighter changes and the mages changes as well since I have a lvl23 Conj on live and I really concerned about the concentration requirements on some of the spells. woot! glad to see people understood. as far as i can tell, the fighter and priest skills are just outlines of skills with initial unbalance numbers plugged in to get them on test ASAP (which i appreciate). i don't mind seeing "this is out of whack", but i do think "SOE broke my class" type comments are premature. SOE hasn't broken anybodies class _yet_, it's just on test (where the whole point is seeing what's broke and needs fixing).

I hope they have given themselves enough time to finish the Fighter/Priest changes, for it seems they have commited themselves to a release period. Would hate to see them the night before it goes live all in the office going

"Crap.. um... Pallys.. 213 here.. 312 here.. lets leave this one out.."

"Have you done the Wardens yet?"

"Wardens, thought you were doing that?"

"rut roh"

I am sure they are ready for test but they are smart not to add everything in at one time. If they did and the test server crashed they would have 3 times the changes to search for the bug than splitting it between 3 or 4 sets.

They've had these changes in the works for 7 months or so now yes?

Do you honestly feel there are going to be any broad or sweeping changes from what they currently have on test in the next month?

That is naive at best. The statement that "priest and fighter changes are still in progress" is a sop to those who would defend these decisions. It is a corporate(not game development, mind you) decision. They new full well priests and fighters(their largest player base) would eat it the worst on these changes. They will try to soften any blow to subscription rates as much as they can.

All the combat changes are "still in progress" but if you feel there is going to be some huge(or even marginally sizeable) shift from what you currently see you are deceiving yourself. You will be nerfed, like it or not, and this weak tactic of stating "we're still working on it!" isn't going to change the current status of the changes in any significant way.

On the eve of their first expansion they are introducing a system that will cause you to take twice as long to consume content. This is no mistake.

They completely revamped SWG's combat system as well. Now question is did it improve that game or chase away more? Before u answer many of those who stayed did so for the expansions. I submit the combat changes soe likes to make does does not make for a better game only a longer one. It is sad state but soe likes to suck the fun out of their games and make them a hardcore gamers marathon. Besides it is much cheeper this way rather than have enough content just tweek what u have to make the content u have last longer. I totally agree with last poster in that the spell changes u see are most likely the final of what we get other than minor tweaking. I f you look back at all the testing patches then at what went live u see the majority of changes went though to live are originally patched in test. But I shall try to remain hopefull that someone in charge will wakeup and really listen to what we want and not what they think we need.

I'm holding judgement until priests are done. Right now my Fury is a one trick pony. NUKE. Not great nukes like cloth wearing finger waggers, but I don't want that to be the class defining ability.
