<DIV>I can't really find a good post to discuss the changes since I currently do not have a test character worth testing them on.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The one main thing about Everquest 2 that made me turn away, even from the beginning, was it's ... way of  splitting everything up. I'll explain.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In most other games, you find spells, items, articles of clothing and whatnot that have a very prominent sense of use. A wand of Fire ball shoots balls of fire. In Everquest 2 the wand of Fire ball might shoot balls of fire, but it may also give you 3% mitigation to arcane avoicance and increase your fire resistance. This seems like a good thing at first, but it's not. Eventually, you'll have to cast many, many spells to have the effect that you desire, because the spell effects were broken up into many spells.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The new changes are altering this. The new changes, as I can see, are making spells</DIV> <OL> <LI>More potent individually</LI> <LI>A more Narrow sense of use</LI> <LI>and easier to manage</LI></OL> <P>Combined with the other class inividual changes, this should give each class a more prominent sense of direction.</P> <P>To be honest, I was a big advocate on classes being equal enough so they you could take a brawler over a warrior and still be able to group -- and vice versa. I'm happy, now though, that these changes are occuring. I was tired of getting a new spell and seeing it worked, but only a little bit, and seeing most other people had something better anyhow. Why get a root if it lasts a whole 3 seconds? Waste of mana and life.</P> <P> </P> <P>I'm eager to see the next changes and to test these ones throughly.</P>

i just made a fighter on test and fought my way through ior.now fighters really feel like fighters. no "casting" time on CAs, just beat the mob. dinging lvl 4 you get a defense stance buff. no need to recast, just use it and you gain defense for the loss of some offensive skills.i like that. before 13b all classes where sort of casters. now only casters are casters <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>I know what you mean.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I played through a level 7 scout so far, and I agree. I was startled my skills were working, as I'm used to waiting half a second for them to fire.</DIV>
