<DIV> Why not keep patrons and the  current  equation to which  GP works......however</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> Heritage Quest and  Turn in Status Loot  would contribute to the  Guild status  for anyone in the guild whether patron or not</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> These  would equate by the number  of  people in the guild ONLY when done by a NON patron...for patrons it would follow the current equation </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Writs on the other hand only supply guild GP from patons   since they can be knocked out and taken whenever the player feels like it, they would follow the same greater then 12 equation  as is  right now standard</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also  GP provided by  patrons would be a different color then that of non patrons in the  guild window</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This way those who are not patrons or have time to do writs all the time  can still contribute to teh guilds rise  whilst  those who love to  steam foward the guild  and have the time can  become patrons and  work on writs whenever they want</DIV>

Most guilds are advanced through HQ's anyways, so this method would hardly dent the problems others have pointed out, and yet it is not needed. Perhaps if it was switched, then I could see where this is a viable solution. In closing though, this doesnt seem like a better option then what the Dev's are exploring now, just a different twist on it.

<P>Actually Shadow, that seems to be a pretty reasonable compromise.... I had originally thought that guild leaders should be offered the choice between using the current system and the new system, but if SOE doesn't make that an option, this is a way for everyone to contribute where no one who wants to do HQ's feels like they need to wait until they can be made a patron in the guild and then later feel they have to do writs to keep it up...</P> <P>I'm probably coming from a different perspective than some, but I don't understand why any guild leader would tell someone who was psyched to be a patron would say no... that person is just likely to get frustrated and leave the guild to either join a different one where they can be a patron or just start their own small guild.</P> <P>I disagree that most guilds have almost finished HQ's - mine is level 16 currently, and half our members are still very low level and will be able to do all the HQ's.</P> <P>But with this new system, it places undue pressure on levels 10-20 to do writs to feel like they are contributing to the guild... I mean really, on their first (or even second) toon, were most people knocking out writs at that level? More than likely they were still exploring the parts of Norrath they could get to. Maybe I'm wrong - this is my first MMORPG, but to me, if someone can only play a few hours a week (or even per day) who wants to do writs during that time?</P> <P>I know guilds are supposed to be everyone working together, but not everyone has to be racking up guild status... to me saying that if someone is in a guild and helps others out in group, crafts for their guildees, provides entertaining conversation, etc etc but they aren't contributing status so they don't really contribute, is like saying that stay at home moms (or dads even) don't do anything to help the family because she or he aren't working and bringing in cash... everyone has a role and if they don't enjoy it, they aren't going to stay around... so why essentially force patron status on guild members.</P> <P>Again, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe collecting the new turn in status items will provide everyone with the sense that they are doing their part, but I think it's just going to cause a lot of frustration for everyone - for the guild leaders who have to decide whether to keep old friends in the guild because they are like family, or whether they should boot them so that the morale of everyone else doesn't go down.</P> <P>I suppose if something were put in place to allow people to be made inactive, that would be great - maybe if someone logs on for an average of 2 hours a week or less, they are considered inactive because someone gone for 2 weeks might log in for 30 minutes to say hi, catch up, say "i'm still here, just having a crazy work month, but i'll be back so please don't kick me out" would automatically reset to active if it was just based on time gone and renewed log in...</P> <P>Everyone is full of ideas and opinions, I'm just posting mine since while I agree that everyone should feel like they can contribute to the guild status wise - technically everyone can - it's just a question of their guild leaders letting them... but no one should be made to feel like they have to.</P> <P>I know everyone feels really strongly about this (whether pro, con, or somewhere in between as long there's some tweaking done), but that's my soap box speech for the day <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  </P>
