I think the lastest change to the guild status system is very wise. Yes, guilds with lots of players will level faster... if they can organise all the players... and so they should; but also, small (6 to 8 player) guilds can actually realistically level now! However I am concerned for casual medium guilds (8 to 20 players)... alot of the casual medium guilds have players who might not play for days, weeks, or even months at a time. My guild for example has several players who have not played in over 100 days, but we know they will drop back in, in time... they have been part of our guild (EQ -> EQ2) for almost 6 years, its just they work in jobs (military, mining, foriegn construction) that mean they are away for months at a time. I think this new system will work very well if it is change to: Divided by the number of unique accounts who have had a character (guilded or not) logged in, in the last 30 days.

AFAIK, the divisor is still the number of patrons. I never read anywhere that they were changing that part, only that you don't lose xp when patrons leave. Either way, I disagree, I think it should remain divided by 12 or the number of patrons, whichever is larger.

I also don't see how any of this affects 6-8 player guilds any differently than an 8-20 player guild. IMO, those are both very small guilds and I would say a medium sized guild is closer to the 50/60 member range and up.

There is an issue here for smaller guilds. I'm a good example myself -- I was our guild's leading status contributor until I left several months ago. I'm now back (maybe), but I do not appreciate the fact that the mechanics forced my guild leader to de-patron me. Similarly, the new rules should not pressure a guild leader to boot folks who are gone for a couple of weeks or months. Don't make it tough for folks to come back. I would suggest that the divisor be related to "# Unique Accts Which Have Logged In This Week/ Month," or something similar.

Thespar -- "as far as you know" would go a lot farther if you read the patch notes before commenting. The entire notion of 'patrons' is vanishing.
