<DIV>For what it's worth, on Test we had constant Splitpaw zone crashes early on (they were fixed) but we never lost the other zones -- it must be a problem that was caused by the way they patched it onto Live, or something. Trust me when I say that if things had gotten that bad on Test, we cloody well would have made sure they fixed it.</DIV>

<DIV>There is a disturbing trend that SOE has carried over into EQ2, every patch needs to be "Patched" to fix the numerous "bugs" caused by the patch. If there is a Test server, and yes there is, and the updates are "Tested" on the "Test Server" and they are, when is Sony going to figure out that they absolutely must test how these updates are loaded onto the servers? It is obvious that something in the way the updates are uploaded onto the live servers is causing problems. The bigger the update the more problems they induce. Before people start jumping all over me about this, I am an Electronics Tech in a research and development environment and deal with computers and software updates on a daily basis so I do have a little experience at these sort of things. Part of the testing process is to determine what/if any problems are caused by the initial install on an already existing program. I am not foolish enough to think that all the problems can be identified in the test stages, but come on SOE, zone crashes every few minutes! Are you purposely not fully testing your updates in an attempt to keep from adding to the unemployment rate by keeping your programers constantly "employed" fixing your own shortcomings? I don't think so, but for goodness sake, stop using the live servers to test how your new improvements are going to screw us over upon update launch! That is the purpose of the "Test" server afterall.:smileymad::smileymad::smileymad:</DIV>

Sorry to put an honest opinion. If people weren't rushing them to get these patches out then maybe they would come out a little more tested and a little more bug-free. <div></div>

This update came out so Sony could make money. Splitpaw. Plain and simple. No other reason that this had to come out *now*. Not player pressure, not anything but pure and simple greed. Hell there is nothing in this patch outside of Splitpaw worth even talking about.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Considering how many major things are broken, that users are screaming over, that haven't been fixed, I find it impossible to believe that this patch which fixes nothing really major (all pet owners please forgive me <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />) was brought on by player demands. In short, BS.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Osiri</DIV>

I am a pet owner. This patch did have some changes that were worth mentioning(Yeah your right the splitpaw thing was a major part of it). Most of the bugs I have heard or seen reported were not in splitpaw zones. EL and Zek were crashing due to tradeskill changes they made (and so were the tradeskill instances). So you cannot say that Splitpaw is affecting crafting zones can you? That doesn't make much sense. <div></div>
<DIV>Kirotaan:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My point was, you commented that Sony rushed the patch out for users. I'm saying that Splitpaw was the reason it was rushed not users. I'm not disputing there are other things in the patch, but those other things clearly weren't tested enough in some cases. The only reason they were likely put into production is because the Pointy Haired Bosses (hereinafter PHBs) forced the dev team to move it live in order to get more $$ from Splitpaw.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I feel for the devs and support, but as they are the only ones that make themselves available to the community (while the PHBs hide in a boardroom), they get the heat, in hopes that it radiates up to the PHBs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Osiri</DIV>

<P>I'm sorry but was anyone doing backflips of joy over being able to take 360 degree shots of your toon? I mean omg, there have been months and months of debate over thousands of threads on that issue!! <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Oh wait, that's what they got out of all those threads regarding player housing and the various issues with that. It's too bad they don't realize that alot of people actually like this feature of the game and would like to utilize it more. What they get instead is, wow! you can make your own toon movies cuz now you can take 360 degree shots of yourself, WOOHOO!!</P> <P>They put out a major announcement that they are going hard core after all the farmers and botters, then backtrack and say, no, we are putting in Station Exchange in JUNE instead. Well there is one day left in June and we are just now at the testing phase of SE. After yesterday's patch, I'm just hanging around waiting for SE to go live so I can try to recoup some of the money I dumped into paying for this game and move on. But at this rate, the expansion may be out before SE is actually up and running halfway right.</P> <P> </P> <P>Dae</P>
